Temperate Grassland Grasslands are large rolling plains of short or

long grass (short grass is found in the Northern Hemisphere, while long is found in the Southern). There are two seasons for the grass growing and dormant. Climates differ, with the short grass has colder winters (the temperature can drop as low as -40 degrees F and be as high as 70, while in the Southern Hemisphere ).

There are a lack of trees (though some can be found within the Veldt), due to constant fires, which coincides with low rain fall.

The Climate of The Temperate Rainforest

Temperate forest rely on high rainfall each year (60 to 200 inches) which leads to very moist summers (often reaching a high around 80 F), and cooler winters (often around 40 deg).

Unlike a tropical rainforest, there’s a smaller amount of biodiversity in trees (a handful of conifers), also there are three layers of Forest (Canopy Layer, Understory Layer, Ground Layer). Also Temperate forests have a very fast recovery rate. Also has the largest Biomass of any Biome.

Plants and Animals found within a Temperate Rainforest There are mainly conifer trees

(redwoods), and some broadleaf trees Some Large animal (bears), lots of

rodents.
