Dear Friends,Temple Grandin School is five years old! Whether you’ve followed us from the beginning or are just learning about our work, whether you’ve given a lot or a little, we thank you for investing in our community. We are a caring group of students, families, and friends who believe in the power of small moments. Day after day, we show up to laugh at puns, create cool stuff, learn new vocabulary, and witness the interactions of unique minds that may one day change the world.

It started with just one adult, believing in the potential of one young man. Five years later, every student at Temple Grandin School has 15 adults who deeply believe in their potential, and express that belief throughout each day. Your belief in our mission enables us to partner with families to make a powerful difference in the lives of these young people.

Thank you for supporting Temple Grandin School!

With gratitude,

Jen Wilger Executive Director

IN 2015-16 WE…

Welcomed 17 local

business owners

to share their

entrepreneurial

journeys with our

students and staff.

Took first place in Hacking Autism’s 2016 Hack-a-Thon Challenge! A team of nine TGS students designed a website to support individuals with autism in independent living

skills. They pitched the prototype to an audience of 150 entrepreneurs, educators, and other professionals at the Hacking Autism conference held at Level 3 in Broomfield, CO.

Presented TGS’s innovative Perspectives program to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national conference in Denver, CO.

Enrolled

students

from 16

communities

across the

Front Range.

Supported over 50 community members and families by providing staff and meeting space for two monthly autism support groups.

Forged a strong connection with Boulder’s Social Venture Partners (SVP) to support our organizational development. TGS was named a finalist in SVP’s

Catapult Investee Program, and recognized by the selection committee for the incredible leadership of our Executive Director and Board Chair.

Received full

accreditation

by the National

Commission

on Exceptional

Schools (NCES).

Added two new members to our Board of Directors, John Nichols and Karen Williams.

APRIL 4, 2016

On Monday evening, April 4th, 2016 we welcomed employers, educators and community members to join us at eTown Hall in Boulder for an inspiring and informative conversation to reveal how “Cultivating a Neurodiverse Workplace” can help organizations unleash a competitive advantage, unlock creative potential and spark innovation. An outstanding panel of speakers joined TGS Board Chair Jason Lynch in this lively discussion.

Meeting of the Minds raised over $20,000 to benefit programs at TGS. We are grateful to our generous event sponsors: CAN’D Aid Foundation, Davis Graham and Stubbs LLP, Sphero, John and Jill Sheldon, New York Life, Frasca Food and Wine, D&K Printing, Boulder Counseling Cooperative and Aspen Network.

Looking into the future!WE HAVE TWO MAJOR GOALS1) Improve our facilityWhile our rural, homelike setting has served our community well, our small, 3,000 square foot school of 23 students is already bursting at the seams. We want to enroll more students, but we don’t have space to serve them! As local and national recognition of our program grows, we are now building a waitlist of students who would like to attend Temple Grandin School. Our leadership team is actively searching to lease or purchase a larger facility that will support our continued growth and program development.

2) Engage our communityYour financial support makes a direct impact on the future well-being of these students who stand poised to change our communities with their innovative thinking. Our program provides students with the interaction and independence skills they need to unlock their potential. In 2017, we need your help to engage new TGS supporters. Please help us get the word out!
