Located in one of Temple’s most popular parks, this trail wraps around a scenic pond, as well as a monarch butterfly habitat, and features a skate park, exercise stations, pavilions, playground and splash pad along the way.

Friar’s CreekHike & Bike #1

5000 S. 5th St. Concrete 3.65 miles

This hike and bike path was constructed through a Texas Park & Wildlife grant in partnership with the City. Friar’s Creek is a designated wetland, which provides habitat to water fowl, wildlife and native flowers.

4FM 2305Hike & Bike

W. Hwy. 2305 Concrete 5.0 miles

This highly used hike and bike path runs parallel to FM 2305. This trail also connects other parks and trails in area.

3Echo VillageTrail

5030 Stonehaven Dr. Concrete 0.50 miles

This trail connects two small pocket parks, one of which features nature themed play areas, a pavilion, seating areas and shade trees.

2Conner Park408 Old Waco Dr. Concrete 0.33 miles

This looped trail surrounds a farm themed play area with several whimsical sculptures, seating areas and shade trees, along with a wildflower meadow and monarch butterfly habitat.

1 Jackson Park925 N. 4th St. Concrete 0.50 miles

Located in one of Temple’s oldest parks, this looped trail, features a playground, pavilion, garden, historic bridges and ample shade cover.

6 Jaycee Park2302 W. Avenue Z Concrete 0.43 miles

Along this looped trail, you will find a large space themed playground and splash pad, exercise stations for all ages, play areas and a pavilion.

Lions Park4320 Lions Park Rd. Concrete 2.00 miles

This serene trail meanders through multiple types of landforms including wetland areas and a preservation pecan tree grove. It also features incredible views from higher elevations in the park, a fishing pond, dog park, baseball fields, accessible playground and an amphitheater.

10 Oak Creek Park2304 Forest Trail Concrete 0.25 miles

Along this looped trail you will find a farm themed park and playground featuring a sculpture of the Pig Family, a local favorite. Along your route, you will also find exercise stations, a basketball court, pavilion and shade trees.

Along this looped trail you will find a dinosaur themed playground, shade trees, pavilion, and seating areas. A soccer field is centrally located within the trail.

This crushed granite trail loops around old growth shade trees, a playground and picnic pavilions.

Silvertone Park404 Waters Dairy Rd. Concrete 0.50 miles

Along this small asphalt trail, you will find a picnic pavilion, seating areas and shade trees.

Wilson Park2205 Curtis B. Elliott Concrete 1.75 miles

This trail meanders through multiple athletic complexes which include soccer fields, baseball and softball complexes, a shaded basketball court, tennis courts, a rec center and pool. You will also find a monarch butterfly habitat along the way.

Jefferson Park2310 Monticello Rd. Concrete 0.25 miles

This small neighborhood park trail features a pirate themed playground, exercise stations, pavilion, seating areas and shade trees.

2264 S. 5th St. Concrete 0.70 miles

This highly landscaped and manicured trail runs along Friar’s Creek. There is a monarch butterfly habitat, pond with fountain, and has ample seating. All plants along the route are native and feature identification markers.

This small neighborhood park trail features a play area, seating area, and shade trees along the route.

Valley RanchPark

7211 Dubose Rd. Concrete 0.37 miles

This looped trail located in a flood plain full of old growth trees also contains a playground, seating areas and changing topography.

West TemplePark

121 S. Montpark Rd. Concrete 1.00 miles

This crushed limestone trail meanders around a playground with splashpad, soccer fields and through a mott of trees.

Western HillsPark

4420 Gazelle Trail Concrete 0.25 miles

Along this trail, there are five nature themed play nodes with a shaded play area, pavilion and abundant landscaping.

South TemplePark

5000 S. 5th St. Concrete 0.75 milesThis trail meanders along Friar’s Creek and features shaded seating areas, bridges, and a championship 18-basket disc golf course. This trail is also part of Friar’s Creek Hike & Bike Trail #1 and continues to Wyndham Hills Trail.

21 Woodbridge Park3620 Whispering Oaks Concrete 0.50 miles

One of Temple’s most serene trails. After crossing a covered wooden bridge, this previous concrete trail wanders along a beautiful pond. Further along the trail, you will find a pergola placed upon a 200 year old silo foundation from when the area was originally farmed. Limestone blocks are used for seating amongst the shade trees.

W. Hwy 2305 Concrete 3.50 milesOne of Temple’s most beautiful trails is routed along the creek and travels along wooded areas. With a width of 12 feet it is truly a Hike and Bike Trail. Along the way you will find waterfalls, sculptures, seating areas, as well as marked native plants to the area.
