2 TEMS POCKET 11.0

TEMS Pocket is a phone-based test tool devel-

oped for measuring the network performance

and quality parameters of wireless networks.

The tool collects measurement and event data

for immediate monitoring or for processing by

TEMS Discovery or other tools at a later time.

Because TEMS Pocket is designed as an integral

part of the phone, it can be used continually,

not only by engineers and technicians, but by

people throughout the operators organization.

Wireless operators need to collect data rom their networks to test and

measure its coverage and quality. However, it isnt always practical to obtain

network inormation with drive-test solutions, particularly with more than

hal o todays estimated data trafc and calls generated rom indoor

environments.*

Using TEMS Pocket, operators can easily test locations such as inside

restaurants, shopping malls, subways, trains, boats, event venues any-

where that people go. This can be done while using TEMS Pocket as a regular

phone. Small enough to ft in your hand, TEMS Pocket is powerul enough to

capture a range o data which only a ew years ago would have required

laptops or even larger tools. It allows the tester to test as user.

Its combination of small size and powerful testing features makes TEMS

Pocket a unique product and the ideal tool or use in the dierent stages o

the network lie cycle network planning, tuning, troubleshooting, as well as

during task such as installation, rollout, site acceptance and service testing.

A complete solution

TEMS Pocket works with TEMS Investigation to provide the most complete

solution or network optimization. TEMS Pocket generates data collected

with the same level o detail as TEMS Investigation and can be connected

as a UE device as well as to TEMS Investigation. TEMS Pocket and TEMS

Investigation can be analyzed using TEMS Discovery, creating a full solution.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This simple yet powerul tool provides users with engineering trace records

and real-time visualization o measurement data on the display screen.

Users can set up the desired connection such as voice and data calls, as the

subscriber would. The important radio trace records and Layer 3 information

are then recorded during the connection sequence. The TEMS Pocket

Proessional package comes equipped with automatic mobile application

tests, including voice, FTP, HTTP, and idle mode measurements. Various data

analysis products are available to process TEMS Pocket 11.0 data, including

premier post-processing solution TEMS Discovery.

The TEMS Pocket phone screen with some unique GUI/MMI functionality

has been specifcally designed to give users the best access to measured

results. One example is the display o important RF parameters through

intuitive indicators, instantly accessible anywhere in the application.

The engineer perspective is also assessed, and covers data ranging

rom signal level, signal quality, and intererence to serving/neighbor cells

and RF confguration parameters. This inormation is essential or eective

troubleshooting and network optimization.

The built-in GPS can be used in conjunction with TEMS Pocket to give

accurate position inormation.
