    TENDER REPORT

    THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF 32 ADDITIONAL REEFER OUTLETS AT

    THE MONTEGO BAY CARGO TERMINAL

    INTRODUCTION

    The demand for reefer outlets at the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal has exceeded the present

    installed capacity of eighteen (18) outlets. Thus following an assessment of the number of 

    reefer plugs installed at the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal it was determined that an

    additional !" reefer outlets are re#uired to satisfy the refrigerated containers demand on theterminal.

    This pro$ect pro%ides for the supply and installation of !" additional reefer outlets and the

    associated &lectrical infrastructure at the Montego Bay Cargo Terminal.

    SCOPE OF WORKS

    The scope of wor's in%ol%es the procurement and installation of !" reefer outlets

    associated switchgears and cabling and in addition the transfer of the existing 18 reefers

    outlets circuits to the new electrical room.

    INVITATION TO TENDER

    collect tender documents was placed in The ,leaner and ort *uthority-s website on

    aturday May 1/ "01 (See Appendix I). The notice outlined the scope of wor' in%ol%ed

    and the eligibility re#uirements of the contractor in accordance with the ,o%ernment

    rocurement rocedures. Tenderers were re#uested to deposit their tenders in the tender

    SUMMARY

    The tender submission by *rel &ngineering has satisfied all the re#uirements listed abo%eand as such is a responsi%e bid.

    *rithmetic chec's were carried out and errors with the bid amount were found. The Bid

    amount was ad$usted in accordance with clause "4.1 of the >nstruction to Bidders. * letter 

    was sent to *rel 9imited indicating the error. (See Appendix XII).

    SUMMARY : DETERMINATION OF RESPONSIVENESS

    *ll the bidders included in their submissions details of similar wor's performed within the

    last three years pursuant to clause @.! (c) of the >nstruction to Bidders section of the tender 

    document.

    :T; &ngineering included information on the installation and repairs to reefer plugs

     performed under a contract at the 6ingston Container Terminal o%er the past ! years.

    This satisfied the re#uirement of the tender document.

    The other bidders included information on contracts performed within the last three

    years howe%er none of the contracts included the installation and maintenance of 

    reefer plugs. This was anticipated since the local use of reefer plugs is uni#ue to the

    operation at the 6ingston and Montego Container Terminals and only contractors

     pre%iously contracted to one of these locations would ha%e been exposed to the

    installation of these plugs.
