NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS 4 top clinicians featured at endodontic symposium Augusta, Ga: Four well-known clini- cians highlighted a continuing educa- tion symposium on "Endodontics, 1975," held recently at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentis- try through the cooperation of the American Association of Endodontists and the dental school's department of continuing education. The four clinicians were Jacob Freedland, Charlotte, NC; Noah Chivian, West Orange, NJ; Thomas P. Mullaney, Lexington, Ky; and Daniel B. Green, Richmond, Va. Dr. Freedland presented a detailed description of basic principles and diagnostic criteria in endodontic planning. In a later session, Dr. Mullaney illustrated the difficulties encountered in perforations and varia- tions in canal anatomy. He also gave a complete analysis of the "Sargenti phenomenon." Next, Dr. Chivian presented an audiovisual feature on surgical endo- dontic care, while Dr. Green con- cluded the meeting with a humorous informal discussion on success and failures in endodontic therapy. More than 60 dentists representing Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky were registered. AAE scientific sessions to be recorded on cassettes New Orleans: The scientific sessions at the annual meeting of the Ameri- can Association of Endodontists April 23-27 in New Orleans will be recorded on cassettes and made avail- able for purchase at the meeting or through the mail thereafter. Each session, or a group of presen- tations within a session, will be as- signed a code number. As an example, the first three lectures in the morning session of the research seminar will be recorded on one cassette, no. C-I. The second group of three will be no. C-2. The code numbers will ap- pear next to the titles in the printed program, and a corresponding order form will be included in the registra- tion packet. Cassettes will sell for $5.95 each, and $29.95 for any group of six. Where two cassettes are required for any one session--as will be the case for both morning and afternoon ses- sions of the research seminar--the price of the second cassette (when both are purchased) will be $4, or a total of $9.95. Members buying cassettes from the producer, Eastern Audio Associates, Inc, may pay by cash, check, or credit card--American Express, BankAmeri- card, or Master Charge. Orders placed after the meeting must be made through the AAE Central Office in Atlanta and must be accompanied by a check. Other officers chosen include W. Albert Chesney and Charles A. Scott, Jr., constitution cocbairmen; and William D. Powell, secretary- treasurer. This year's meeting of the group will be held during the annual session of the Tennessee Dental Association in Nashville May 18-21. Augusta, Ga: Four well-known clini- cians highlighted a continuing educa- tion symposium on "Endodontics, 1975," held recently at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentis- try through the cooperation of the American Association of Endodontists and the dental school's department of continuing education.

The four clinicians were Jacob Freedland, Charlotte, NC; Noah Chivian, West Orange, NJ; Thomas P. Mullaney, Lexington, Ky; and Daniel B. Green, Richmond, Va.

Dr. Freedland presented a detailed description of basic principles and diagnostic criteria in endodontic planning.
