A Word from your Chapter Director

Hello Chapter Q.

We are hoping the weather warms

up and stops raining soon, we are

planning a lot of rides this year and we

need your help to plan were you would

like to go.

On the calendar 12-14 of April is

Spring Fling in Pigeon Forge. We are all

gathering at exit 11 off from 24 and

leave from there at 8 am.

There is a first aid class at Spring Fling

Friday morning, the cost is 25 dollars. If

you are interested in the class, please let

me know as soon as possible.

Our first dinner ride is the 5th to

Casablanca Mexican restaurant, 2121

Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

Our second dinner ride is to Dover Grill,

310 Donaldson Pkwy. Dover Tn.

We will leave from Woodlawn Papa

Rocks at 5:15 to ride to Dover.

This is just a reminder that our Lawn

sale is May 5th. If you have anything you

can donate it would be greatly

appreciated.

The sale is located next to Tom Murrays

house in the church parking lot in

Woodlawn.

So, stay safe and warm and we hope

A Word from your

Assistant Chapter

Director . Not a lot going on this month but I wanted to say thanks to Tom Murray for setting up the fund raiser at Rural King for St Jude's again. We had a great day and had lots of help. We had eight or nine bodies there and I think we hit around $700 so it was very productive. I am not going to try and list everyone who was there because I will forget somebody and I don't want to do that. Thanks to every one of you for giv-ing up your time and helping out!

Spring Fling coming up quick!! I am putting the ride together and starting to get excited. I al-ways enjoy that weekend in the mountains and seeing folks I haven't seen in many cases since last year. As you are getting your bike ready for the trip let me know if you need anything. I know that region is still looking for volunteers to work a couple of hours to help out that week-end, so if you can and you want to get with Dennis and find out what he still needs.

Wingin” It Alone?

Sometimes when you decide to take a little trip, you have to decide, “Do I want to go alone, or do I want to invite others”. Both can be fun, depending on the type of trip you want to take. If you decide to go alone, you can change things such as your route, how long you’re going to be gone, where to eat and when you want to stop. The”downside” of riding alone is that you are “alone”. On the other hand, traveling with someone or in a group, you have that sense of security in case something happens. There is also the companionship that comes with riding in a group - the different ideas that others bring to the group, someone knowing different routes to get to where you’re going and good ole conversation. An added benefit of riding in a group is that everyone can keep an eye on each other. But, riding alone can be fun, too, because it’s the freedom of just you and the road. Whichever way, the point is, to be out there riding and enjoying it. See you down the road, Mickey Turner

April 5 Dinner ride to Casa Blanca located at 2121 Wilma Rudolph Blvd Ste B, Clarksville, TN, 37040. We will meet at the location and eat at 6:30 pm. This is a good Mexican Restaurant with moderate prices, they do give Military discount. April 12 thru 14 Spring Fling Lets talk about putting together a ride to Pigeon Forge. Please register early so the District will know how many to plan for. Don’t forget to register for the after closing show. April 12 Chapter ride to Pigeon Forge (Spring Fling) Will leave from the Exxon Station at exit 11. Leave time is 8:00 am so be there early be gassed and ready to ride at 8:00 am. April 19 We will be going to Dover Grill for this one it is located at 310 Donelson Pkwy, Dover, TN, 37058. Again we meet at the location or if you want to ride in the group we will meet at Papa Rocks located at 1477 Dover Rd, Clarksville, TN, 37042. We will leave from Papa Rocks no later than 5:30 pm.

June 7 This dinner ride will be to Mission BBQ, 2644 Wilma Rudolph Blvd #101, Clarksville, TN 37040, We will meet at

the location and eat at 6:30 pm.

June 8 The class room portion of the Advanced Rider Course and Trike Rider Course will be held at Grace Lutheran

Church, 2041 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37043, We will start the class at 5:00 pm.

June 9 The range portion of the ARC and TRC will be held at Northeast High School, 3701 Trenton Rd, Clarksville, TN

Its time to start visiting other chapters If you looked at the calendar in this news letter you can see lots of opportunities to go visit other

chapters. Jan and I love to go visit and we would like to have some of the chapter come with us. So

to that end I have included our tentative visitation ride schedule in the calendar. These are the dates

we are going to other chapters. If anyone would like to come with us please call or text or e-mail me

and let us know. That way we can set up a ride that will fit your schedule and get us to the chapters

on time. If you want to visit a chapter and it is not on our list let us know and we will try to make it

work. We travel by car until the weather is good enough to ride then we ride as much as we can.

We will also chase the plaques as much as we can so try to plan some rides to help out with that.

When we go for the Middle and West TN Plaque it is done by ticket draw and there is no minimum

number of people from our chapter required. When we go after the TN Traveling Plaque you must

have five members attending and this is given to the highest miles traveled to the Gathering. The

miles used are the total miles of all the members that attend the gathering, also if you ride your

Motorcycle you get double miles for that rider and co-rider. If you have any questions about the rules

please go to the district web site (www.gwrratn.org) and check them out.

The first Saturday in March we plan to visit Chapter L and Chapter N.

The second Saturday in March we are planning to visit Chapter E and Chapter Z.

The last Tuesday in March we plan to visit Chapter A. We try to visit this chapter every month.

If we have changes to our schedule we will try to get the change to everyone.

Spring Fling is coming fast. Dave Jones has put together a ride for the trip to Pigeon Forge I

am sure he will talk about it at the Gathering Monday. I hope every one is planning on coming we

always have a great time. This year we will have a Medic First class along with some seminars. We

will have guided and un-guided rides. Should have Southern Power Sports with the new 2018 Gold

Wing for demo rides. Don’t forget to volunteer to help for a couple hours, I think this is the best way

to have fun at a rally. We are having a dance on Thursday night. We will have some great 60’s

music and a good verity of other old music. We are also having a costume contest at the dance so

dress like you did in the 60’s, if your not old enough to remember ask some one who was around

then.
