    Call Flow

Call Enters a PSTN-oriented Port Headed out to PBX (or Phone) or over IP

If the PassThru parameter is set to yes, then the call will be routed toa PBX- oriented port with a matching PassThru Trunk ID.

If the PassThru parameter is set to no, then the DNIS is analyzed if itprovided to the Tenor by the PSTN.

If there is no IVR, IP Extension or Forced IP Routing-type option set, theDNIS will be compared to the Routing Table.

The call may be routed to a PBX-oriented port or over IP. If there is an IVR option configured, the call will follow the flow as dictated

by the selected IVR Type. When the Destination Number is dialed, it will becompared to the Routing Table. The call may be routed to a PBX-oriented port or over IP.

If there is IP Extension or Forced IP Routing is configured, the call IPdestination will be configured.

The call will be routed over IP with no additional digits dialed.

    26/33

    Call Flow

Call Enters the Ethernet Port (without Digit Translation) Headed to PBX (orPhone) or the PSTN

The Tenor tries to find an LDN match for the number received on theRouting Table (gk table).

If a match is found, the call is sent to a PBX-oriented port. If an LDN match is not found, then the LAM/Hopoff entries are tried.

If a LAM/Hopoff match is found, the Hopoff Process takes place. The Tenor parses the Matched (LAM/Hopoff Pattern) Digits The Tenor Adds the Hopoff Replacement Digits The Tenor Routes the Call to a PSTN-oriented port.

If no LDN or LAM match is found, the Tenor will fail the incoming call.

  • 7/28/2019 Tenor Core Technologies

    27/33

    Call Flow

Call Enters the Ethernet Port (with Digit Translation) Headed to PBX (or Phone)or the PSTN

The Tenor receives the call with the digits as presented from theOrigination Device.

Incoming Digit Translation is enabled by applying an IPTG (1st Generation)

or IPDP (2nd Generation) rule. (e.g. Incoming Delete Digits) For 1 st Gen. Tenors, IPTG rules are global per Tenor, so the same rule

will be applied to each incoming IP call. For 2 nd Gen. Tenors, IPDP routes can be attached to a Static Route,

hence you may have a different Incoming rule for each IP Address thatthe Tenor receives a call from.

The Tenor Compares the altered number to the Routing Table. The same LDN & LAM call flow applies from the previous slide.

In the case of a Call Relay - Outgoing IP Rules would be applied at thispoint. (e.g. Outgoing Prefix, Prefix Trunk ID, etc.)
