In addition to a comprehensive student report to assist parents and the school with their child’s results, each student that participates receives a certificate. Entry forms will need to be returned to the school office no later than Thursday 15th March, 2018. Coles Shop and Earn Milton Public School has registered for the 2018 Coles Sports for School Program. When you shop at Coles you will receive vouchers. You can either put them in the box supplied at Coles titled “Milton Public School” or place them in the box provided at school which is located in the foyer. Thank you for supporting our school! Scripture 2018 Scripture classes commenced last week. We thank all of our scripture leaders for volunteering their time to provide this service for our children. Students are attending the same classes as last year unless a written request to change is received from a parent or carer. We will do our best where possible to accommodate these requests. To assist with the smooth running of classes and minimise disruptions, we ask that your children remain in the same scripture group for the year. SAVE THE DATE! Our annual K-2 Easter Hat Parade is coming up in Week 9, on Thursday 29th March. All K-2 parents and visitors are very welcome.

Rugby League Last week Tim, Funnel and Matt visited our school to deliver a NRL talk. First, they talked about wellbeing and strategies we can use to feel good. Then they told us about the special rules they used for younger kids playing NRL at our local club. We played games and some even won prizes. It was great to hear about how being active and part of a club helps our wellbeing. It was also great to see some local players.

Cooper and Riley, 5J

Rugby League Trials Year 5 & 6 students with experience playing rugby league are invited to team trials this Thursday at lunch with Mr Pacey. Please bring spare sports gear/clothes in a separate bag as the field may be damp.

Parent Teacher Meetings 2018

Teachers will be holding meetings of approximately thirty minutes to introduce themselves, outline the grade learning programs for the year and assist in any way they can to make this year an enjoyable and successful one.

2018 Dance Team Auditions for the 2018 Dance Team will take place over weeks 3 and 4 with rehearsals starting in week 5. Miss Howes is looking for dancers to compete at the Shoalhaven Eisteddfod in May. There will be two items entered into the Eisteddfod this year, a primary Troupe and an infants Troupe. Students in years 3-6 are invited to audition for the primary Troupe and students in year 2 are invited to audition for the infants Troupe. Due to stage size and management of choreography there will only be 20 students selected for each team. Successful students will be expected to attend all rehearsals and this year a costume hire fee of $20 will be required. If you have any questions, please come and see Miss Howes after school. School Contributions With the support of the Parents and Citizens' Association, the school has an annual voluntary contribution scheme which all parents are encouraged to pay in Term 1 of each year. These contributions are spent on big ticket items such as class sets of laptops, other computer technology, software, and interactive whiteboards, which are used by all students. The financial support of every family plays a major part in providing extra resources that extend the school’s capacity to broaden the learning experience for all students. The quality of the school’s programs is maximised when each family makes its contribution and assists in supplementing funds gained from other sources, including the State and Commonwealth Governments. Your P&C annually reviews and approves the Schedule of the Contributions. The amount of voluntary contributions requested of parents and carers for 2018 has been set at $60.00 for the first child and $30.00 for each subsequent child. Please complete the tear off slip at the bottom of page 4 and return with your payment. Subsidies and exemptions are available. Please contact the Principal or the school office for details.
