Term 2—Newsletter No. 7 Jesus in the Manger Our children in Years 1 and 2 performed “Jesus in the Manger” this week. It was a fabulous performance and everyone had worked so hard. We are so proud of the children as they had to learn words and lines, dances and songs-it was amazing! A special thank you to all the staff involved in the play for the wonderful costumes, scenery, singing, acting and dancing. We are so lucky at CTK to have a talented team. A special thank you to Mr Pizzey who provided the lights and sounds equipment. There were approximately 930 children at the service from different Chaplaincy teams across the Diocese and it was wonderful to feel like we were part of our big Catholic family. The service was led by Canon Bosco MacDonald and he spoke to us about the Year of Prayer and our important role as Chaplaincy team members. We were presented with our badges and certificates which was very special and we renewed our Chap- laincy Team promises. We also met up with the Chaplaincy team from St Marys in Bradley Stoke and met two of our old friends who left our school last year. We had a wonderful day and are looking for- ward to an exciting year of Chaplaincy ahead. Christmas Parties Our Christmas parties are on Wednesday 19th December. Attendance at CTK:

Please remember every day counts at school and it is

important to attend school daily. Missed days leds to

missing lessons and children worrying when they return

to school what learning they have missed

especially in Maths and English.

Attendance Facts;

Attendance of 95% for the year equals 10 days that

your child has been absent, that is 2 full school weeks

of your child’s learning missed for that year.

Attendance of 90% for the year equals 19 days that

your child has been absent, that is almost 4 school

weeks missed.

Attendance of 85% for the year equals 29 days that

your child has been absent per, that is almost 6 school

weeks missed.

Attendance of 80% for the year equals 38 days absent

per year that is over 7 school weeks missed.

School Funding in South Gloucestershire School funding is changing all over the country espe-cially in South Gloucestershire, as we going to be the lowest funded nationally out of 150 Local Authorities. Also our Local Authority has over spent their budget and giving less to fund schools in the next financial year which starts in April 2019. As a school, we are very concerned about the impact this will have on the provision for our children at CTK and all children in South Gloucestershire.
