Initial Sounds Play games with children getting them to identify the initial sound in words. For example, “What sound does fish start
with?” F. Make sure you emphasise the initial
sound when you say the word. Complete the activity ‘Sound Sort – TEN’
(see attachments)
“s” sound activities as shown on website
Activity Retell – Cooking Use the attached recipes to make
pikelets and iced biscuits. Use the steps to help you with your activity retell.
Letter / Sound of the Week
Week 1 – Ss Week 2 – Aa Practise the letter name and sound.
Think of words that begin with these sounds. Activities: Letter tracing sheet, letter hunt in
magazines and SATPIN Board Game (see attachments)
Fine Motor: Cutting Have fun completing these snipping
activities! Remember how to hold your scissors - thumb on top in the small hole.

Fine Motor Patterns Complete the pre-writing activities,
which include: big body movements, movement instructions and pre-writing
pattern worksheets. Pattern: “Sideways, sideways, left to
right” (see attachments)
Fine Motor Practise tracing your name, numbers and
shapes every day. Look at the arrow to show you how to form the letters.
You can also practise sequencing and saying the letters in your name using your pegs.
These can be found in your original packs.
Numeracy Collections: Make up collections of 10.
Collect 10 of any item and put them in
a zip lock bag. Number Cards: Go through the numbers
1 to 10. Cut them out and put them in order.
Numeracy Complete the number matching
game. Count the pictures and match them to the correct number.
Numeracy: Measurement Collect five of your favourite teddies and order
them from smallest to tallest.
Gross Motor Skills Animal Walks
Gross Motor Skills Create an obstacle course in your
home or backyard that includes some gross motor skills, such as climbing,
hopping, jumping with two feet together, balancing and skipping.
Religious Education Charades: Act out things you do with your
family. Prayer: As a family, say a prayer together thanking God for everyone in your family.
Art and Craft Make a card for your mum for Mother’s
Day. It can look like this or you can create your own. Don’t forget to write
your name inside the card!
Art and Craft Go for a walk and collect different
leaves and things from nature. Create a Leaf Man with these items.
