Coming event for this week include: Homework Centre every Monday and Tuesday afternoon from 3.30pm - 4.00pm Breakfast Club every Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 8.000am – 8.20am Active After School Sport every Monday/Tuesday afternoon from 4.00 –5.00pm Jane Jones - Early Childhood Hub – Monday Playgroup with Kim Huntly & Lili Kitione on Tuesday & Wednesday Community Working Party meeting Tuesday 5th. Cath Eddie (TEN – Targeting Early Numeracy Co -ordinator) from District Office will be at Ivanhoe Central School for two days to provide ongoing Training and Development for the primary teachers. Helen-Bub Connor (Assistant Principal Learning & Support) will also pro- vide ongoing Literacy Training & Development for the primary teachers. We have decided to extend the cut -off date for the applications to attend the Borambola Sport & Recreation Camp from last Wednesday (30/07/14) till this Wednesday, the 6th of August. Hopefully we will have enough students willing to attend the week-long excursion so we can proceed with the booking. Ivanhoe teachers have recently noticed that some students are not using the pedestrian crossing correctly when leaving school in Columbus Street. We are asking parents/caregivers/ community members to encourage the students to utilise the pedestrian crossing appropriately at all times and refrain from running across the road. We have also informed the students and parents at the Week 3 assembly to be careful when riding a bike and ensure bike helmets are worn at all times. We are hoping to organise a visit from the Police Education Unit in the near future from either Broken Hill or Menindee and implement a Bike Safety Program. There is also a possibility of another Blue Light Police Disco in the near future.

at all times and refrain from running across the road. We have also informed the students and

  • LIBRARY

‘Christopher’s Bicycle’ written by Charlotte Middleton.

Christopher Nibble loves his recycled bicycle! It’s been lovingly repaired and

repainted by Mr and Mrs Nibble, and it really looks a treat. Now Christopher is

the greenest guinea pig in Dandeville. He’s ready to rescue the town’s rubbish,

turning old into new, in this story full of pedal power.

‘The Brave Little Owl’ written by Gill Davies, illustrations by Dick

    Twinney.

Owls love the night-time, but one little owl just can’t help being afraid of the

dark. What will happen when it’s time for him to learn to fly?
