PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
It’s great to be back
It was fantastic to be back at school yesterday after
some long service leave and to see our respectful,
responsible, cooperative and honest students again.
Thank you to all of our staff for their efforts over
the past 2 weeks, there were lots of great events and
achievements, which I enjoyed seeing on our
Facebook page. Thank you to Miss Shankelton and
Mrs Lindsay who relieved in higher duties during
my absence, much appreciated.
I had a very refreshing time including dragging
myself around the Melbourne Marathon and visiting
the Great Ocean Road. The 12 Apostles should be
on every Australian’s “to-do” list it is a truly
spectacular part of our beautiful country.
Please indulge me the photo, that medal hurt !
2018 planning
Thank you to Mrs Lindsay who coordinated the
subject selection process during my absence. Most
students will get their chosen preferences however
additional interviews will be conducted with
individual students this week as we finalise what we
can run with. I am very pleased with the range of
electives and extra curricular “clubs” which we
were able to offer and I thank our staff for their
support and commitment to this process.

SECONDARY NEWS
Some reminders for secondary students this week:
Secondary Excursion Update
Please keep those payments coming in for the
excursion. If students have lost their payment note
they need to see Miss Shankelton ASAP to receive
another. The medical note and final payment advice
for students attending will be issued later this week.
RYCAGS Camp 2017
Last week, five students from Year 9/10 attended
the annual RYCAGs camp in Narromine, hosted by
the Narromine Rotary Club. This camp gives
students a valuable insight into the careers
associated with Agriculture, along with seeing
different farming systems in action. Two of our
students in the group, Amie and Sam attended the
2016 camp and were present this year as group
leaders. Congratulations to Angus, Mikala, Lachlan,
Sam and Amie who represented Tullamore Central
School with pride and once again it was fantastic to
receive outstanding feedback from the camp
organisers about our students.
7-10 Examinations
Students in Years 7-10 will have their examinations
from Monday – Thursday of Week 6 this term.
They will receive their examination timetable this
week via email and in hard copy format. Students
should begin to ask their teachers questions about
what they should be revising for their exams.

Year 8 VALID Science
Letters were sent home to parents last week about
the upcoming Year 8 VALID online science
examination. For students at Tullamore this will be
held Monday Week 5 during the Year 8 Agriculture
lesson. Students need to bring a set of earphones
with them if possible so that they can complete the
exam.
Have a great Week!

AGRICULTURE IN ACTION
Students in Year 9/10 Agriculture will have
practical lessons on Friday Week 4 and Tuesday
Week 5. Students are asked to bring a work shirt,
hat and their enclosed leather shoes as we will be
doing some construction works at the ag block and
cleaning troughs. Please ensure that you have these
available as the work we are doing is dirty and I
would not like to see the white shirts that students
wear go home filthy as a result of the jobs that are
being done.
