PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Welcome to week 5!
It has been fantastic to see students returning this
week and behaving responsibly and following our
heightened health practices. We are continuing to
ensure classrooms and materials are safe for student
use and increased JOSS cleaning is continuing
throughout the day.
Gardening
It was great to see some of our infants and primary
students out planting our veggie and flower gardens
at the end of last week. We are looking forward to
seeing their progress!
Staffing
This week we welcome Mr Dakkak to our staff who
will be relieving in our TAS position at school. We
also welcome Mrs Lucie McMahon who had been
working casually to our SLSO team supporting
students at school. We are so pleased to have you
both on board.
Devices and Learning Materials
A huge thank you to all students and families for
returning their devices and learning materials to the
school. If you have outstanding items- including
incomplete work, please return this to the school so
that we are able to ensure we are aware of where
each student is up to.
Reports
Reports will be going out this term in a modified
proforma. These have been written to focus on
student engagement and effort in learning both at
school and at home. This semester in line with
advice from NESA and the Department of
Education our reports will not have an A-E grade.
You will have the opportunity to contact the school
to request phone interviews regarding your child/ren
as always. This can also be requested at any time
throughout the year and I greatly encourage you to
continue to maintain the high levels of
communication that have been developed
throughout this interesting year.

school each day. Bubblers cannot be used at school
at the moment. Thank you for your assistance with
this.
K/1/2 News Welcome back everyone! So glad to have the class
back together! Thank you once again to families for
their support and effort over the last eight weeks.
Students yesterday were very excited to be back and
we are all looking forward to establishing our
school and class routines.
Our Library borrowing day is Monday. Please
return any overdue books as soon as possible, the
library is open most lunchtimes and students can
return during this time also.
Homework
This week students will not have spelling or maths

Any work still at home from the end of Term 1 and
the last four weeks should please be returned to
school. I will be emailing parents later in the week
regarding our Seesaw learning platform, please keep
an eye out for it and let me know if you did not

SECONDARY NEWS
Welcome to Week 5.
Welcome Back
Welcome back to all of our wonderful Secondary
Students. It was fantastic to see 100% attendance on
Monday. Just a few reminders for all students:
Uniform
Now that it is getting colder, students need to ensure
that they are bringing their Tullamore Central
TERM 2 2020– WEEK 5

School jumpers for every day and their black
tracksuit pants on sport and PE days. Students
should also be dressing appropriately for the
weather – ie if it is cold, do not turn up in a t-shirt
and shorts! They also need to ensure that they have
their enclosed leather shoes for science, technology
and food technology and sports shoes for PE and
Sport.
Equipment
Please ensure that students are bringing their pencil
case, rulers, calculators, glasses etc. each day. There
were a number of students who turned up without
their books, pens and pencils. Students have been
issued with a new copy of the timetable so they
need to be checking what subjects they have each
day and bringing the correct equipment.
Senior Students
Please double check your dial in numbers on your
WAP VC lessons and ensure that you have all of
your required books, assessments and equipment –
especially for VET practicals.
Recess Passes
Students in Years 9 – 12 who have the recess pass,
are allowed to access this, however if students are
not in uniform they will not be going. Remember
students, you are representing the school so ensure
that your behaviour reflects our school values of
being respectful, responsible, cooperative and
honest.
New TAS Teacher
This week we also welcome our new TAS Teacher
Mr Dakkak. Mr Dakkak will be teaching in the
areas of Visual Art, Industrial Technology and
Technology Mandatory and will be co-teaching
WAP subjects. We welcome Mr Dakkak to the
Tullamore Central School community, and we look
forward to seeing the great projects in these subject
areas.

AGRICULTURE IN ACTION
Wanted – Cans & Bottles
As part of our fundraising for the Agriculture
program, we will be collecting the 10c return cans
and bottles. No need to sort them, as we will do
this! Cans and bottles can be dropped in to the
Agriculture plot area where there are two bins
labelled Cans and Plastic Bottles and Glass Bottles.
Wood Raffle
Thank you to everyone that has supported our wood
raffle. The winner of the first load of wood was the
lucky ticket number 88, purchased by Mathew
Williams. Congratulations and we hope you enjoy
the warmth from the fire!
There are still tickets for the remaining two 100
club wood raffles. These are available at CRT.
Thank you to Juanita and Judy for selling the tickets
for us and for Tallis Stevenson for splitting the
wood. Tickets are $2.00 per square, 300 tickets
available.
Vegetable Production
There will be soon be some vegetables available
from our Agriculture Plots. After our practical
lessons later in the week, our students will have a
list of vegetables that will be available for purchase
in the next few weeks. It looks like we will have a
few bumper crops this season so stay tuned for the
vegetable market place update.
Calf Weaning
Over the next few days there may be a bit of noise
from the agricultural farm. We are currently
weaning our two calves from 2019, Jimmy and
Tommy. We apologise in advance! It should only
last three days and they should settle down.
