Assignments are in Blue

Sketchbook entries are in Green

Projects are in Purple

Charts are in Orange

Extra Credit is in Pink

Turn in the in-shelf when you finish

Turn in the in-shelf when you finish

Turn the entire sketchbook to the turn in shelf on 04/21 & 05/12

Glue them near the back of your sketchbook

Tape an extra credit form to the extra credit & turn into the shelf.

Categories:

Charts• Informal assessments: I will ask you at the end of class how productive you

were. You will tell me: 5=definitely, 4=mostly, 3=somewhat, 2=not much, 0=not at all.

• Cleaning: At the end of class, you will ask another peer to observed that you cleaned your desk/mess and that you helped clean the class somehow; they will write their name in your chart for that day. You will get a score for this at the end of the term.

Extra Credit

• Go back to the website and click on extra credit options

• You can ONLY do the extra credit that is listed on the website.

• You can only earn up to 200 points extra credit• If I offer a specific assignment at the very end of the semester, that will not count as

the 200 points.

• Approximately 1 minute of effort = 1 points.

Project: Vector Portrait

• Take a photo of a portrait of anyone you want to

• Make a vector portrait of that photo

• Use a color scheme (monochromatic might be a choice for this project, but it’s not required)

• Create an illustration of the photo on adobe illustrator

• Yard stick from one corner to opposite corner

• My demo videos will be shown during class: grid & proportions

• Get a small photo from a magazine. Use the corner to opposite corner technique to find the same proportion for your picture

• Draw an X and a + in the center of your photo and on your sketchbook page.

• Draw a basic outline of your photo in your sketchbook (15 minutes)

• You can use this technique on your collage prisma color illustration project.

#17 Draw a collage idea with tracing paper

• Get a tracing paper and a magazine

• Draw a collage creation on tracing paper, by tracing multiple images

• After tracing some images, add your own creativity to it

• You can use this idea on your collage drawing project, or not• Put it in your sketchbook

• Create a collage with magazines (or photoshop if you are familiar with it)

• Use either grid technique or X & + technique and press lightly• Grid: Tape the clear grid sheets on top of your collage and draw the same amount

of squares on your illustration board. Draw the outline of what is inside of each section

• Create a brainstorm web about your personality, moods, or emotions

• The last ovals in your brainstorm web should be visual images of what you could draw to symbolize your meaning• Demonstration on how to start the collage

• Create a brainstorm web about the photos you chose.

• The last ovals in your brainstorm web should be what could that image symbolize about you/message/meaning?

• Imagine you want to start your own business later in your life.

1. What kind of business would you open?

2. What would the title of your company be?

3. What would the slogan of your company be?

4. Draw 6 thumbnail sketch ideas of a logo for your company

• Choose your favorite thumbnail sketch and create it on illustrator. • It can change as you go

• Use the pen tool, shape tool, paint tool and pathfinder tools that you have learned about in previous assignments to create your logo.

#21 Typography & a quiz in-class 1. Study for 5 minutes by drawing

outlines around each part of a letter and repeating the term in your head while you draw an outline

2. Draw an example of each a part of a letter in your sketchbook and label it. • Goal is to be learning the terms.

3. After 15 minutes, you will quiz each other

4. After 10 minutes you will take a paper quiz, you will take a quiz on the parts of a letter
