Term 4 Week 10 - 16th December 2020 FOR YOUR CALENDAR Wed 16 Dec - Students last day Fri 29 Jan - Students 1st day 2021 (Years 1 - 6) Wed 3 Jan - Kindergarten students 1st day 2021 Dear Parents and Carers We have finally made it to the end of the 2020 school year and I must say we have ended with a bang!!! After having few events throughout Terms 2 and 3 we have certainly made up for that in Term 4. Term 4 has been jam packed with activities to suit all students. We have had a very successful Athletics Carnival, the annual learn to swim program, Tiger Day, NAIDOC Week, the Rising Stars Program and our traditional STAR reward days. Presentation Day Congratulations to all students who received awards at our recent ceremony. Although the format was different to previous years the enthusiasm from our winners didnt change. As I said on the day, I am very proud of all KVPS students as they have worked hard in 2020 and done the best they could do and that is all we are asking for. Special congratulations to our newly appointed leadership team for 2021. School Captains Indi and Riley, Vice Captains Lyla and Caleb and ministers Jazmin, Madelyn, Jackson, Kade, Zailee, Danyon, Jessica and Jake - I know your parents are very excited for you and the staff is looking forward to working with you in 2021. Farewell Year 6 - This last week we farewell our fabulous Year 6 students with a number of memorable events, and I must say that Thursday was the best day for Year 6 I have ever been involved in. It started in the morning with the Graduation assembly, then the virtual disco and finally the dinner and trivia night. I have never seen all children engaged in every event as they were on Thursday. It was absolute credit to Mrs Kable and her team of hard working teachers and parent volunteers; it was truly a spectacular day for all. Thank you to all who were involved in any way! 2020 Leadership team I would like to congratulate the current School Leadership team. Ty, Elise, Isaac, Lara, Jayden, Bree, Astara, Leila, Brydon, Monique, Piper and Jake, together in a very difficult year, you have served your school to the highest of standards. You adjusted to the restrictions that were in place and showed resilience beyond your years. Your support and ability to adapt and lead the way was valued by me and all staff. Thank you!

    Wed 3 Jan - Kindergarten students 1st day 2021

    Dear Parents and Carers

We have finally made it to the end of the 2020 school year and I must say we have ended with

a bang!!! After having few events throughout Terms 2 and 3 we have certainly made up for that

in Term 4. Term 4 has been jam packed with activities to suit all students. We have had a very

successful Athletics Carnival, the annual learn to swim program, Tiger Day, NAIDOC Week, the

Rising Stars Program and our traditional STAR reward days.

Presentation Day – Congratulations to all students who received awards at our recent

ceremony. Although the format was different to previous years the enthusiasm from our

winners didn’t change. As I said on the day, I am very proud of all KVPS students as they have

worked hard in 2020 and done the best they could do and that is all we are asking for. Special

congratulations to our newly appointed leadership team for 2021. School Captains Indi and

Riley, Vice Captains Lyla and Caleb and ministers Jazmin, Madelyn, Jackson, Kade, Zailee,

Danyon, Jessica and Jake - I know your parents are very excited for you and the staff is looking

forward to working with you in 2021.

Farewell Year 6 - This last week we farewell our fabulous Year 6 students with a number of

memorable events, and I must say that Thursday was the best day for Year 6 I have ever been

involved in. It started in the morning with the Graduation assembly, then the virtual disco and

finally the dinner and trivia night. I have never seen all children engaged in every event as they

were on Thursday. It was absolute credit to Mrs Kable and her team of hard working teachers

and parent volunteers; it was truly a spectacular day for all. Thank you to all who were involved

    in any way!

2020 Leadership team – I would like to congratulate the current School Leadership team. Ty,

  • Term 1 COVID plans - We are anticipating some minor changes to the current COVID

guidelines for Term 1 next year and will keep you updated as the guidelines change. The current

drop-off and pick-up arrangements will stay in place for Term 1 for most students. When students

return on Friday 29th January they can be dropped at the gate as they have been this year. Staff

will be present to help students transition back to school. When the morning bell goes they will

meet in their department assembly areas from 2020; classes K- 2 in the Infant cola area and

Years 3 - 5 in the Primary assembly area. Students will return to their 2020 class whilst we check

our numbers. At pick up time students will meet at their normal meeting place. Please ensure

your child knows their routine for pick up. Canteen, uniform shop and P&C volunteers will

continue to be onsite in Term 1. Other classroom volunteers will start in Term 2 after a revised

    induction which incorporates COVID guidelines.

Just a reminder, 2021 Kindergarten students first day of school will be Wednesday 3rd February.

Finally I would like to say farewell to our Year 6 families and other families who are moving out of

the area. I thank you for the contributions you have made to KVPS during your time with us and I

wish you the best of luck in your new schools. Thank you all for an amazing year. I wish a safe

and restful holiday filled with lots of love and laughter. I look forward to seeing you in the New

    Year.

    Best wishes,

    Jeanette Dillon
