Our High School Orientation 2016

Last Wednesday, Year 6 students went to Bomaderry

High School. They enjoyed a range of different taster

sessions from subjects that they will be enjoying next

year. These included Agriculture, Food Tech, Textiles

and Science. First up we went to Agriculture where

we got to see baby chickens, calves and sheep. We

also saw some quails and the veggie patch. We were

weighed on scales like moo cows! In Science they

talked about biology, physics and chemistry. We got

fuzzy hair from 4000 volts, saw a Port Jackson

shark’s tooth and egg and made coloured flame.

Food Tech was fun; we got to decorate cakes with

yumdant, I mean fondant. Next we went to Textiles

and threaded sewing machines. It’s harder than it

looks. After that it was lunch - yummy yummy

sausage sandwiches. It was a great day and it made

us look forward to the future.

Uniform Shop News

The uniform shop is now fully stocked for the start of

2017 with plenty of shirts, shorts and skorts

available in all sizes. Now is a good time to get

organised with the next size up for the coming year.

Please think about donating your old/outgrown

uniforms to the shop for resale to other families.

Any families that pre-ordered their kindy uniforms

are reminded to pay for these as soon as possible

so they can be collected at the Kindy Orientation

Expo this Thursday 1st or Friday 2nd December.

Library News

Please continue to look for books at

home. There are quite a lot of

overdue books. Return them to the

library as soon as you can please.

Look in all those forgotten places; behind, under, on

top of things. You might be surprised what you find!

The end of the year is approaching and the library

needs all the books returned.

A prize for the class with no overdue books will be a

great way to end the year!

Thank you for your cooperation.

Canteen News

Here are a few dates that some extra helpers are required at the canteen. If any of you are free or if you know someone else who could help - perhaps a grandparent, friend, neighbour etc, we would love to hear from you!

Monday 5th December Christmas Celebrations including the canteen "Red Day". The canteen will be super busy with the preparation of pre-ordered hotdogs and other lunch items, which all need to be done prior to 10:50am. Plus at lunch and recess there are other items to purchase so will need setting up etc. plus serving You don't have to do it all. You can pick what you like to do (some people don't like handling money or others don't like making food etc). You can come for as long or as little as you like. Even a hour in the morning will be a brilliant help.

Thursday 12th December This will be an end of year clean up . There are no students on site as they will be at the swimming pool. If you are free or know someone that would be great. Even if you can give just an hour, it will be greatly appreciated! A pizza lunch will be provided to say thanks for your help and support.

Tupperware Lunchbox Orders

Due This Week

Our P&C have organised a Tupperware fundraising

activity. By simply placing an order for some

colourful and handy lunchboxes or drink bottles, or

booking your own Tupperware Party, you will be

helping to raise funds for the school.

Completed order forms need to be returned to

the office by this Wednesday 30th November.

There will also be a Tupperware stall here at our

Kinder 2017 Orientation and Expo Days on 1st and

2nd December (this Thursday and Friday).

Canteen ‘Red Day’ Reminder

Please remember that order forms and payment for the canteen Red Day are due back to the canteen by this Thursday 1st December. Please note that Gluten Free options are also available.
