Sent off a Christmas care package today to an Australian soldier.
Box up a care package and the Defence Dept. will cover the cost of postage up to a cubed weight of 2kg
to all operational zones. For items exceeding 2kg, the full cost
will need to be covered by the individual posting the item.
To ensure it arrives by Christmas, the cut off is Dec 8th.
Postal Address for Care Packages is;
An Australian Defence Member AFPO 60
Australian Defence Force NSW 2890.
In order to ensure an equitable distribution of parcels it is requested that donations are gender-neutral,
and addressed to 'An Australian Defence Member', not to a specific
job title, trade or unit member.
To ensure that all items are able to be delivered to our deployed forces,
donors are asked to ensure that packages contain non-perishable
goods only.
Unfortunately Defense cannot accept care packages for Military Working
Dogs or Explosive Detection Dogs due to strict care requirements relating to
both their diet and their training programs.

Woolgoolga to Ballina Project… Out of hours work at Pimlico from
Tuesday 28 November 2017, weather permitting from Tuesday
28 November, for a period of up to 10 nights, there will be out of hours
work near Coolgardie Road, Pimlico. As part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific
Highway upgrade project, a new Coolgardie Road interchange is
being built to provide safe access to the new highway for road users.
To start this work, the project team will be removing the existing centre
median wire rope and existing pavement and building a new
temporary road surface along a section of the Pacific Highway near
Coolgardie Road, Pimlico. We have provided a map to show the
location of the work area.
To minimise impacts to traffic volumes and for the safety of
motorists and the workforce, the work will be undertaken at night, outside of the project’s approved construction hours. The project
team have consulted with residents directly affected by this work to carry out this work out-of-hours. Traffic control will be in place for the duration of the works. Access
to properties will be maintained at all times, however, there may be some short delays. Residents are asked to travel through the area
with care and observe all signposting, speed limits and any
directions given by traffic controllers.
If you have any questions, please contact the Woolgoolga to Ballina project toll free line on1800 778
900 dial 1, [email protected] or
visit the project website rms.nsw.gov.au/W2B.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for
your patience during this important work.

How wonderful to see four of our Coraki Ladies recognised as Hidden Treasures this year! From MP Chris Gulaptis - 1 November 2017
HIDDEN TREASURES IN CLARENCE AND RICHMOND VALLEYS RECOGNISED.
A record nine Clarence and Richmond Valley women have been recognised in the 2017 Hidden
Treasures Roll out of just 103 individuals across regional and rural New South Wales.
Hidden Treasures is an annual initiative of the NSW Government’s Rural Women’s Network which recognises the outstanding efforts of
women volunteers and promotes the valuable role of volunteering to the community.
“The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll is all about recognising country women who don’t seek recognition, but who richly deserve it for the
tireless contribution they make to their community,” Mr Gulaptis said.
Local 2017 Hidden Treasures are Jane Harrison, Ellangowan; Susan Howland, Yamba; Patricia Hughes, Coraki; Janice
Kapeen, Coraki; Vanessa Kapeen, Coraki; Kerry O’Connor, Coraki; Judy Mussared, Minnie Water; Tania Peene,
Maclean; and Joan Smedley, Evans Head.
Mr Gulaptis said the Government was spending record funding on physical infrastructure like the
Pacific Highway but that he was just as passionate about what he called social
infrastructure.
“It is women like this group of nine volunteering day in, day out who enhance our social
infrastructure and we are all very grateful for their efforts,” Mr Gulaptis said.
Mr Gulaptis will formally recognise the nine Hidden Treasures in his electorate at functions to
be held in the coming weeks.
For more information or to nominate someone, go to www.dpi.nsw.gov.auand search for Hidden
Treasures.
