Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 3. Hopefully everyone had a great break and

enjoyed the ‘down time’ from school! It was wonderful to see the

children return yesterday, happy and smiling and telling each other

what they did during the holidays. As you all know, the next few weeks

leading up to the fete are going to be very busy and our dedicated Fete

Committee, under Zac Culican’s leadership, has been working

tirelessly to ensure the event is a huge success. Once again, I would like

to thank all families for supporting the fete and remind everyone about

the Kids Café Mufti Day this Friday and the Christmas in July Mufti

Day next Friday. Each family’s contribution makes a huge difference

to the amount raised each year and the support is much appreciated.

Thank you to the many families who made appointments to meet with

teachers to discuss their child’s progress. A note will come home

shortly to Year 1 White and Year 5 White about interviews.

STAGE 2 SOCCER GALA DAY At the end of Term 2 the Stage 2 boys and girls soccer

teams participated in the Parramatta Diocesan Soccer Gala

days. The children represented St Monica’s with great pride

and enthusiasm and never stopped trying. The boys team

remained undefeated all day finishing in second place by a

very narrow margin. The girls team kept fighting all day and

finished in fourth place. I would like to thank all players for

their hard work and commitment to their team.

Commonwealth Bank

This year the Commonwealth Bank has made improvements to the Student Banking Token Program. The new web-based system now automatically tracks the number of deposits your child makes each week and produces a report with names of the students who are eligible for rewards. To save time and confusion, I will no longer be giving students silver tokens for each deposit. When your child’s name appears on the report they will be called to the office to choose a reward item. I will then order these items on line and when they arrive at school (within a few days) they will be given to your child. Could you please talk to your child and explain the new process so they understand. Kind regards Alba Kernahan – Student Banking Coordinator
