sQCP Wire Distribution ProductsQCP DCS Panel
Features and Benefits
• Convenient access point to monitor, test or reconfigure circuits, eliminating work on the DCSbackplane and enabling troubleshooting without uncabling.
• Preplanned, durable access point for troubleshooting in a "direct connect" application: a 1 for 1circuit connection, through the front and rear side of the same termination contact by terminatingnetwork element wires on the front and the DCS cable on the back of the panel.
• In an interconnect application, allows rerouting of circuits by terminating the DCS and networkelement cables on the rear of the panel and interconnecting them on the front.
• Available in 112 and 224 circuit sizes. The 112 circuit panel is configured with pin groups of 4x28and provides the easiest work access. The 224 circuit panel is configured with pin groups of 8x28and provides the highest termination density, saving space.
• Excellent cable management with a variety of filler panels, stand-off brackets, fanning panels, fanning rings and dust covers.
• Available with shield pins as optional bonding points. If used, the shield pins provide a means forDCS/network element sheath continuity.
• Easily tested without clipping shortened pigtails within the same cable sheath. The QCP contactsare available for applications needing frequent test access.
• Centralized termination, interconnection and access to digital transmission lines between the DCS and the network elements
• An alternative to hardwiring digital telecommunications equipment directly to the DCS
• A fallback option for interconnection of network elements if the DCS fails

QCP Jackfields
Wired AssembliesSpecialty Jackfields
The QCP jackfield provides a means of accessing 2- and 4-wire circuits at a point that is nonconnector-ized and in which stranded VF cable has been used. The QCP contacts on the rear of the jackfield utilizeADC’s split cylinder, punch down insulation displacement contact. The split cylinder contacts accept 22,24 and 26 AWG solid or stranded wire. These contacts provide the capability of quickly rewiring the jack-field for new circuits, or changing the circuits from 2-wire to 4-wire or from 4-wire back to 2-wire circuits.A special insertion tool is required for connecting the cable to the panel.

sWired AssembliesTelephone Line Isolation Panel
The Telephone Line Isolation Panel provides asafe and easy means of accessing phone linesfor testing at power substations.
The PI-250 panel and associated plugs are spe-cially designed to provide protection up to20,000 volts between the line side and theequipment side as well as between the adjacentcircuits within the panel. The panels are avail-able in several versions. The three types of avail-able plugs, Looping Plugs, Shorting Plugs andReverse Polarity Plugs, have color-coded handlesfor easy identification.
The panel is usually located at or near thedemarcation between the telephone company’sin-plant or building wiring, usually at the pointof entrance into the building. The panel allowsline access for repair personnel while protectingthem from high voltages on the lines duringelectrical storms and power failures.
One side of the panel is the telephone compa-ny side where telephone cables enter thepower substations. The other side is the power company equipment side. To open the phonecircuits for testing in either direction, you simplyremove the plugs from the panel, opening thephone company lines from the power companyequipment. Lines can be accessed in both direc-tions through telephone type jacks, recessedwithin the molded panel in such a way as tomake accidental contact with the jacksextremely difficult.
The isolation panel is completely enclosed in atransparent safety shield, making it virtuallyimpossible for test personnel to come in con-tact with the active circuits. The speciallydesigned ADC plugs are rated at 20,000 volts, well over the necessary protection level.
ADC’s Telephone Line Isolation Panel also pro-vides a less time-consuming, less costly andmore efficient means of access. No moreunwrapping circuits or breaking solder connec-tions. All you do is remove a plug and your cir-cuits are automatically disconnected for testing.

Conversion plugs provide a means to interface standard (Longframe [310]) jacks to Bantam jacks. The rearof the Longframe plug is modified to acccept either two conductor or three conductor Bantam plugs.
Conversion Plugs
Circuit guard plugs snap-fit into Bantam jacks, but do not actuate the circuit. These plugs are used to iden-tify and block entry to critical circuits appearing on Bantam (.175" [4.45 mm] diameter) jacks. The PJ925single circuit guard can be used singly or in conjunction with the quad circuit guard to identify critical cir-cuits for test technicians. The PJ925 circuit guard plugs can be marked with up to 4 letters for better circuitidentification in critical applications, contact ADC for more information. The PJ926 quad circuit guard cov-ers the send and receive sides of a 4-wire circuit, yet leaves the monitor jacks accessible for testing. Thequad circuit guard is furnished with a clear window and white card for designation and categorizing. Thedual circuit guard covers IN and OUT jacks within the dual Bantam jack. The dual circuit guard features indi-vidual circuit designation card and plastic window. The dual circuit guard is offered in kits of 25 pieces.

Longframe (310) terminating plugs are threeconductor single plugs for use with .25" (6.35mm) jacks. The plugs have an internal resistorwired between tip and ring conductors.
Terminating Plugs
Internal connections tie together correspondingtip, ring and sleeve conductors to allow loopingof jack circuits. Plastic shell is black. Mates with.25" (6.35 mm) diameter three conductor jacks.
Hole plugs are used to fill unused jack positionsin inserts or to complete a panel when jacksare to be added at a later date.
Longframe (310) dummy plugs activate jack cir-cuits without grounding or coupling incomingcircuits. These standard Longframe (310) plugsare made of a rugged plastic material givinglong life and dependable jack actuation.Color-coding (black or red) allows visual identi-fication of circuit condition when dummy plugsare in use.
