Dating back to the mid-16th century, terrazzo has
developed into one of the premier flooring solutions for
commercial and residential properties in the world.
Architects find great use of terrazzo due to it's
sustainable features, which can contribute to LEED
points. Terrazzo is made to outlast and outperform
other types of flooring options. As a result, it provides a
long life cycle that minimizes overall cost.
WHYTERRAZZO?
DURABILITYTerrazzo is ideal for high foot traffic areas like schools,
hospitals, airports and malls. In fact, many terrazzo
floors still remain present in some of the world's
historical buildings. Terrazzo has tremendous resistance
to chemicals, fire and abrasions, allowing terrazzo to last
on average up to 75 years. Thin-set epoxy terrazzo
flooring is even more durable than other terrazzo
systems and can outlast most buildings itself.
The compressive strength of our EZpourEpoxy 158 epoxy resin system is about
13,200 psi, meaning the floor should beable to withstand 13,200 pounds per
square inch of pressure.

DESIGNNever underestimate the design flexibility that comes
with terrazzo. You will be amazed with the type of
patterns and graphics that can be created just with a few
epoxy colors and aggregate choices. From simplistic
designs to more creative designs, terrazzo provides
quality artwork and appeal to any floor.
Endless possibilities. Combine anunlimited color range with different
aggregate options from recycled glass, mother of pearl and other natural stones.
"GREEN"Terrazzo benefits the environment. With low VOC
content, terrazzo works to improve indoor air quality.
Terrazzo also includes pre-consumer and post-
consumer aggregates. Recycled glass not only provides a
great selection of colors but will contribute to LEED
credit for its re-use. Also, terrazzo is antimicrobial,
making it ideal for hospital and school settings.
70% of a terrazzo floor's surface consistsof aggregate chips.

LOWMAINTENANCEDue to terrazzo's durability, replacements are rare for
this type of flooring. It's also easy to maintain over time
as well. During the first few months after the installation,
scrubbing may be required to rid of any construction
dust. Afterwards, any individual can take a dry mop and
to remove any residue left behind.
$0.80 is the annual cost per square feetover a 40 year period for epoxy terrazzo,
according by NTMA, for southern states inthe US. Epoxy terrazzo is cost-effective
compared to carpet, vinyl and tile.
