Day 4. Breakfast onboard with optional devotions in the morning. At 12am the ship will dock in Ajacco (Corsica) in France. Command-ing a lovely sweep of bay, the city breathes confidence and has more than a whiff of the Côte d’Azur. Everyone from solo travel-lers to romance-seeking couples and families will love moseying around the centre, replete with mellow-toned buildings and buzzing cafes – not to mention its large marina. Napoléon Bonaparte was born here in 1769, and the city is dotted with sites re-lating to the diminutive dictator, from his childhood home to seafront statues, museums and street names. Ship departs at 7pm.

Day 5. At 8am the ship docks in Genoa, (Portofino), Italy. One of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera, little Portofino has just over 500 permanent residents. But that all changes on summer days when the sun is shining and the yachting set drops anchor in the harbor to wander about. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants line the tiny streets. Diving, hiking and beach-going are popular local pastimes, and there are even some historic sights like the Church of St. Martin (Divo Martino) and the Castello Brown hilltop fortress. Take your time to enjoy this gorgeous town, window shop and sample an authentic gelato while people-watching. Just remember, Portofino is a distance from Genoa, so you will need to do an excursion to get there.. Some of you may wish to visit the spa this day and relax with a sauna session and soothing massage (just remember to book way in advance!). This evening we will all dress up in our finest for the Captain’s Dinner, and have a group photo taken on the exquisite Swarovski staircase in the jazz lounge

Day 6. Breakfast onboard with optional devotions in the morning. At 7am the ship will dock in La Spezia, (Cinque Terre), Italy. Here five colourful fishing villages are set amid some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet. Rooted in antiquity, Cinque Terre’s five villages date from the early medieval period and sites to see include several castles and a quintet of illustrious parish churches. Take in the magnificent view, explore the quaint city centre and interesting little shops dotted around the cobbled streets. Or, for the more adventurous, join an excursion to hike the dramatic coastline and get a bird’s eye view. The ship only sets sail at midnight, so you get plenty of time to enjoy this magnificent Italian gem.

Day 7. Breakfast onboard with optional devotions in the morning. At 7am the ship will dock in Civitavecchia, Rome. Few cities can

rival Rome’s astonishing artistic heritage. The result of 3000 years of ad hoc urban development, Rome’s cityscape is an exhila-rating spectacle. Ancient icons such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Pantheon recall the city’s golden age as caput mundi (capital of the world), while its many monumental basilicas testify to its historical role as seat of the Catholic Church. We suggest you take a Red Bus Tour to fully experience the beauty and interesting sites of Rome. The ship sails at 6pm, so make sure to be back in time for dinner!

Day 8. At 9am the ship docks in Cannes, France. Playground of the super-wealthy, Cannes is the ‘Hollywood’ of the French Riviera. To-day we have included an excursion in your tour package which takes us to Monte Carlo. After breakfast we will depart from the port and drive along the coastal road enroute to the Principality of Monaco, home of the Grimaldi Royal Family. Our first stop will be at the Rock of Monaco where we will park before heading up into the old town. Our guide will lead us through the narrow uphill streets, past the Oceanographic Museum, the Cathedral where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III are buried (outside view), and the fairytale Prince’s Palace. We will also see one of the most famous buildings of the Principality: Monaco’s legendary Casino which stands next to the glamorous Hotel de Paris. Here we will have a guided tour of the elegant square and surround-ing buildings before enjoying some free time. After a great day together, we head back to the ship which sets sail at 4pm - just in time for an afternoon nap before dinner.

Day 9. Breakfast onboard with optional devotions in the morning. Today you have the morning free to enjoy our magnificent ship. Sleep late, catch a tan at the pool deck, play bingo or hit the gym all before we dock at 2pm in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. A former Moorish casbah, or walled city, Palma’s Old Town is an appealing maze of narrow streets that are a delight to explore on foot. Hop on the Soller Railway for a 17-mile scenic trip, visit 14th-century Bellver Castle and the museum of contemporary art. Tonight is our last one on board, so we will end the tour with a celebratory dinner, followed by a grand finale in the amphithea-tre. Best you get packing as well, as trying to fit all your souvenirs into the suitcase may take some time!

Day 10. We dock at 8am in Barcelona. After leaving the ship, we will then depart for a guided tour of Barcelona to view this magnificent city, with its colourful architecture and mosaic walls. We will see the La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, an unfinished Gaudi masterpiece. After a photo stop for a panoramic view over the city, we head to the heart of Barcelona - La Ramblas. This famous tree-lined street and square is filled with artisans, street musicians and performers, as well as sidewalk cafes serving delicious Spanish chorizo and paella. After some free time, we will head for the airport for our overnight flight home.

Day 11. We land mid-morning back in Cape Town, having enjoyed a wonderful holiday with new friends and special memories.!
