1 Introduction This document explains how to install “Test Ace Ver.6.1” (Test Ace). Please read this document carefully

before proceeding with installation.

1.1 Target Audience This document is written for users who want to install Test Ace.

1.2 Document Structure Part 1, “Introduction”

This part gives the outline of this document.

Part 2, “Working Environment”

This part explains about working environment of Test Ace.

Part 3, “Install Test Ace”

This part explains about installation and initial settings of Test Ace.

This part explains how to uninstall Test Ace.

1.3 Prerequisite Installation of SQL Server Express Edition is a prerequisite to installing Test Ace.

Install SQL Server Express Edition on the OS on which Test Ace is installed.

Regarding to the installation of SQL Server Express Edition, please refer to "SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

Installation Guide", "SQL Server 2012 Express Installation Guide", "SQL Server 2014 Express Installation

Guide."

2 Working Environment Below are working environments for Test Ace.

2.1 Hardware CPU 2GHz or Greater

RAM 4GB (2GB or above recommended)

HDD 10GB or more free space (depending on the amount of data to be

converted)

2.2 Software OS Microsoft Windows 2008 Server (x86 version, x64 version)

3 Test Ace Installation This part shows the steps to install Test Ace.

3.1 Install Test Ace Installation of Test Ace is done by users who have been granted Local Administration authority.

3.1.1 Run Setup File Run installation file (setup.exe), then click “Next >”.

3.1.2 License Agreement Input the check next to “I accept the terms of the license agreement”, then click “Next > ”.

3.1.3 Customer Information Input “User Name” and “Company Name”, then click “Next > ”.

3.1.4 Choose Destination Location Specify the destination location, then click “Next >”.

3.1.5 Database Server Login (1) Under “Database server that you are installing to:”, specify a server name of repository DB. (Default:

(local)\SQLEXPRESS)

(2) Select a connection method. (Default: Windows Authentication)

※If user is not the one who had installed Test Ace, please select Server Authentication, then input “sa”

under Login ID.

(3) Click “Next (N) >”.

3.1.6 Finish Program Installation Preparation Click “Next >”.

3.1.7 Install The progress of installation is displayed on screen.

Please wait until registration of initial data is completed.

When installation has finished, below screen is shown.

Click “Finish”.

3.1.8 License File License File can be found in below path.

[Test Ace Installation Directory]\testace_home\resources\license

Here, the process of installation has completed.

3.2 Post-Installation Settings Next is explanation about necessary settings after installation has been done.

3.2.1 Set Administrator Authority Below are steps to set Administrator Authority for Test Ace.

(1) Select “Start” – “All Programs” – “Test Ace” –right click on “Test Ace Login” to choose “Properties”.

Or Right click on Test Ace shortcut and select Properties.

(2) On “Compatibility” tab, check to “Run this program as an administrator”, then click “OK”.

Here, post-installation setting has completed.

4 Delete Test Ace This part shows how to delete Test Ace.

4.1 Uninstall Test Ace Uninstallation of Test Ace is done by users who have been granted Local Administrator Authority.

4.1.1 Add and Delete Program Press “Start” – “Control Panel” – “Uninstall a program”.

4.1.2 Uninstall Test Ace (1) Right click on “Test Ace”, then click Uninstall.

(2) Click “Next (N) >”.

(3) Under “Target for Uninstallation”, select what you want to uninstall, then click “Next (N) >”.

① Select “Applications and Setting” to delete not only Test Ace but also setting info which had been

registered in repository DB.

② Select “Application only” to uninstall only Test Ace. Then setting info registered in repository DB will

not be deleted.

(4) Under “Database Server that you are installing to”, indicate Server Name of repository DB.

(Default: (local)\SQLEXPRESS)

(5) Select an option under “Connect using”. (Default: Windows Authentication)

(6) Click “Next (N) >”.

(8) Click “Finish”.

4.1.3 Delete Installation Folder Delete Installation Folder of Test Ace on OS.

Here, uninstallation process has completed.
