KAP Update: Test Security Sign Off

Test Security: DTC sign off – due November 30, 2020 – if you have not signed off yet this is your last chance! DTCs are responsible for sign-off of BTCs and staff

within their district!

KAP Interim Predictive ReportsAvailable on Thursday 11/19/2020

Reports available for interim predictive: 1. Student Report – Comprehensive data for the student’s

performance on each item as well as the likely range of scores the student could receive on the KAP summative test

2. School Report – Detailed school results for each question compared to state-wide results

3. District Report – Detailed district results for each question compared to state-wide results

4. Question CSV – Data for each student’s response per question on the test

Look at each question and ask:• What questions did my students do well on? • What questions were missed most? • ASK Why? Had the skill/concept been taught? If yes, when was it taught? Do you need to

reteach the skill/concept?

TTS for ELA passages (nonvisual)Reminder….

TTS for ELA passages must be approved by KSDE by January 31, 2021 This accommodation is ONLY for students with an IEP, 504 or student

intervention plan. This accommodation is appropriate for students who receive daily

instruction and assessments orally and through computerized text to speech.

This accommodation should only be used by students who: Have a reading-based disability (at least two grade levels below) that affects the student’s decoding,

fluency or comprehension skills.

Can’t access print text due to blindness or low vision and don’t have adequate Braille skills.

TTS for ELA Passages (non visual) –Kite System - PNP

TTS Non-Visual Accommodation – these were all cleared out of the Kite system prior to the start of the school year.

You must enter this accommodation into the PNP. If you have already entered this accommodation (this semester) it is still there and if Cary Rogers approves it in December/January, the accommodation will be active on the summative test.

If it is not approved you will receive an email from the Kite system (in December/January) indicating it was not approved.

If it was not approved you must enter a new PNP so that students can have TTS on questions and stems or another appropriate accommodation.

Comment:

The only suggestion I would possibly make is to make the menu bar stand out a bit more. Perhaps a different color? Once the student reports came up, I wasn't following the directions and initially thought only math reports were available, until I got to the last student who had a KAP Predictive Interim report as the default report. I went back to the directions and it led me to the menu bar, but it hadn't jumped out before that.

For the student (xxxxxxxxx) who had the KAP Predictive Interim ELA Spring as the default report, when I opened the report there were no scores for 2018 or any other years listed for KAP Predictives.

ATS Response:

We made the menu bar and the items under the menu bar more contrasting so that the options are visible more easily. We made the color of the items inside the menu bar more white to improve contrast.

The student with "No" report opt in student does not have any report, which caused this error to show. With our updated fix, thedownload report link will not be available for the student who does not have a report. Instead we will show a text 'Reports not available' for these students.

Comment:Regarding the directions, item 9, "In column D, enter either Yes or No (Note: this column is not required)." - "It might be helpful in this guide to be more descriptive of what a "Yes" or "No" response means. I assumed that since the "column is not required" that what I put in that column wasn't going to affect a user's ability to get into the portal." Ticket #378971

All reports worked well and the interface was easy to use. I'd suggest that you make it more clear that the parent needs to click the little symbol to see the report and they will need Adobe or you will get a million calls! ;-)Also make it bigger and more prominent or contrasting. It's really hard to know that's how you see the score" Ticket#472223 -//Mitch// Also referenced an error getting a report for a DLM student. Attempted to recreate user's upload in stage but only with DLM student and it didn't give view reports as the student had none. May check multichild functionality when one child doesn't have reports but still seeing reports page.

ATS Response:

We increased the pdf icon size and made it red to make it more prominent.

The student with the error did not have any report, which caused this error to show. With our updated fix, the download report link will not be available for the student who does not have a report. Instead we will show a text 'Reports not available' for these students.

Hello! First, let me tell you I love the new parent portal. It is an excellent addition! The only suggestion I would have is once a parent goes to the reports page for a student, if there was a way to switch students without having to return to the main screen, I think that would be beneficial. I thought maybe the student name was a toggle if you clicked on it, but that didn't happen. I'm not sure if that's even doable, but just a suggestion. Thank you so much for putting this together!!

We will add the student switch to our roadmap and determine how best to handle.

ACT Updates

ACT and WorkKeys registration Submit TEST records to KIDS by December 1.KSDE will upload students to ACT before December 15 and

ACT will load students into Pearson Access on December 15

Schools are required to offer the opportunity to take ACT and/or WorkKeys to all juniors.

Students and parents should be the ones who decide if the student is going to participate.

We have had a very high participation rate for ACT and a much lower participation for WorkKeys

Manage participation should have been completed in Pearson Access for ACT and WorkKeys by November 27.

Accommodations requests may be submitted from now until January 8.

Pre ACT 8/9

Spring testing window added February 1- March 5. No student enrollment for Pre ACT 8/9 Materials may be ordered in CCRIS January 4-

February 19 If you ordered materials for fall and were unable to

test, keep them and you may use them in the spring.
