The band started slowly, performing mostly at churches as they traveled around the country from their new home base in Oklahoma City. They took their career to the next level when they moved to Nashville for a year and immersed themselves in techniques of music production. Investing in a home studio, they released a series of CDs indepen-dently and toured as an opening act for the band Audio Adrenaline. As they gained a following, sales rose from 1,000 copies for their debut release to 50,000 for The Worship Project, released around 2000.That album contained "I Can Just Imagine," a song that Millard wrote in ten minutes but that actually had a much longer genesis. After his father's death, friends and relatives had tried to comfort Millard by telling him that his father was happy in heaven. Millard wondered what heavenly joys could com-pare with those that could be experienced on earth. He found that repeating the phrase "I can only imagine" brought him comfort, and he began writing it down repeatedly, on whatever scrap of paper he had on hand. Several years later, working on songs for The Worship Project, he found the phrase in an old notebook, and the rest of the song sprang quickly to life around it.A variety of factors propelled "I Can Just

Imagine" to pop hit status. One, Bryson told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, was the impact of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. "Ever since 9/11, there have been so many people searching for something, whether it's religion or the basic mean-ing of life," he said. The Worship Project grew in popularity to the point where the group couldn't handle the shipping chores necessary to keep up with its sales, and MercyMe signed with the large INO label outside Nash-ville. "I Can Just Imagine" was reissued on MercyMe's INO debut, Almost There, in 2001, and it contin-ued to grow as a phenomenon. After the album appeared, a Dallas radio station that played pop and hip-hop hits, but which also included a segment in which listeners could request atypical content, honored a request for "I Can Just Imagine." Its phone lines were ooded with requests for the song, and "I Can Just Imagine" spent several months on Billboard's top 200 list of pop singles. The song also garnered substantial airplay on country stations.MercyMe won a Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association in 2002, with "I Can Just Imagine"

garnering Song of the Year. The group toured heavily but worked slowly on new music after Almost There, hoping to avoid one-hit wonder status. Spoken For, which came out in late 2002, cracked Billboard's top 200, along with Almost There in 2003, as pop fans discovered the band, and it brought MercyMe more Dove Awards, this time for Artist of the Year and Group of the Year in 2004.For their third major label

album, Undone, MercyMe branched out in new directions. They added a guitarist, Barry Graul, to the band, and they incorpo-rated a new range of pop inuences, notably the melodically rich, string-powered music of the phenomenally popular rock band Coldplay. Jenny Williams of Entertainment Weekly noted that the album "carefully balances unabashedly holy senti-ments with lyrics that could be alluding to a new love

just as easily as to God." Once again Millard drew on personal tragedies in his songwriting; nine of his friends and family mem-bers died between Decem-ber of 2003 and March of 2004, and the album focused on the question of responding to the deaths of loved ones.Undone became the most successful album of MercyMe's career, dispel-ling any notion that the success of "I Can Only Imagine" was a one-time uke. Although some Christian reviewers faulted the album for a lack of depth, it topped Christian music charts and rose to number 12 on Billboard's pop top 200---rare territory for a Christian album. With a Christmas album due in the fall of 2005 and a solo disc of hymns from Millard in the works, MercyMe was riding high. They contin-ued, however, to put their Christian faith at the center of their eorts. "We're denitely trying to be the best musicians we can and put out the best 'product' that we can, if you want to say it that way," Cochran told the Grand Rapids Press. "But if people's lives aren't being aected and aren't being pointed to Christ, then we really haven't done our job."

Then I had a very good experience during Adoration and not only that it was for the rst time that I could be a part of the Holy Mass when it was celebrated in the train. And also, I learnt a lot of things in these 20 days, I under-stood how dicult it is to live in the villages and so I feel that I am so lucky to have so many good facilities and I feel that I am living in paradise, I also feel that I saw the world now.

I understood that Prayer is so powerful and that our God is so merciful. But still there were some suerings during this mission but I had actually expected more suerings. Speaking about the people of Jharkhand I feel that they are so great, especially the people of the villages, when we went to stay in the villages they gave us everything they had, they treated us like their own family members, they were so caring and loving and the best thing I liked was that- when we went to their homes they greeted us saying ''Jai Yeshu''. Then I also liked the Jharkhand style of welcoming people, it shows that they are so humble.

Then speaking about the program most of the classes were so dierent and inspiring. And the games, the team work, and the home visiting were all very enriching. I will never forget all these

things in my life. Then speaking about the participants, all of them were so friendly and nice, on the rst day when I saw all of them together I never thought that I could be friends with all of them because all of them were older than me but later on I saw that they came and spoke to me and i felt so happy because of their friendliness.

Then when all of us went to the ''Mis-sionaries of Charity'', I really felt that I am so lucky. Then speaking about the Leaders they were so caring, loving and helping. And overall speaking about the whole program it was very, very good and I got to know more about Jesus and about the world in which I am living. I understood that I am so lucky and I got to know about the lifestyle of others and now I am so happy to be a part of this program and I also feel that in these 20 days I have learnt more things than these 14 years of mine. "Posting certain photos or information on the site puts you at risk of being red, a victim of crime, or even worse. There are computer programmes called 'data mining' that sweep Facebook to collect dates of birth, phone numbers, addresses etc. That's gold dust to criminals," the Sun quoted Whitelegg, an IT security expert, as saying.

Here are the 10 things you should never post on Facebook and why.

Date and place of birth- This places you at massive risk of identity theft. They are the most commonly used security questions on pass-word resetting sites.Mother's maiden name-A lot of sites use your mother's maiden name to authenticate who you are. They also commonly use the school you went to as a security question.

Address- It again puts you at risk from identity fraud, but also from burglars and stalkers.Holidays-If you post an update on Facebook saying: "Can't wait till next Wednesday - two weeks in Miami yeh!" you are basically saying: "Come and rob me."

Short trips from home-Again, this can put you at risk of burglary and stalking.Inappropriate photos- Don't post racy, illicit, oensive or incriminating photos. Bosses and prospective employers are increasingly looking at Facebook pages.Confessionals-These can also get you red or haunt you for the rest of your life. Posting you are skiving work, who you are sleeping with, or doing something shameful is just dumb.Phone number-Unless you want to be bom-barded with unsolicited phone calls from people trying to sell you something - don't.Children's names-These can be used by identity fraudsters or, more sinisterly, by paedo-philes. It is much easier to steal a child's identity. An adult will eventually discover something is wrong by, for example, their credit rating being aected. Children won't.Don't post a full public prole-It won't just exist on Facebook, it will go on any internet search such as Google. Only give the bare bones such as a name. Keep everything else private.

A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR STUDENTS APPEARING FOR EXAMSLoving Heavenly Father,I come to you with the assurance that You are a prayer-answering God! Yes Lord! Your Word says that You are merciful and You never cast away those who come to you (Mathew 11:28). So I bow before You and oer this prayer with faith and condence that You’ll answer my prayer, because You love me very much.Lord! Please forgive all my short-comings and take full control of my life from now on.Even now, You know the anxieties within me concerning my forthcom-ing exams. Master! It is nothing for You to help those with power or without power (2 Chronicles 14:11). I cannot achieve anything in this world on my own.

So please ll my heart and soul with Your divine presence and be the Lord of my life. Please take away all my weaknesses, remove all distrac-tions and deceptions, break every obstacle and help me to fully concentrate in my studies with peace (1 Chronicles 15:10, Micah 2:13, Isaiah 58:11)Now, I look up to You and beg You to ll my heart with Your wisdom and knowledge to learn my lessons (James 1:5). Help me to prepare well for my exams. Give me understand-ing and strong memory power. Help me to cover all the portions and enable me to face my exams boldly.Let Your compassionate eyes be always upon me, as You have prom-ised, to instruct me and guide me in my studies. You have also promised

that You are always with me wher-ever I go (Isaiah 41:10). So be with me even in the exam hall. Hold my hand so that I would write the correct answer for each question. Grant me favour in the eyes of the examiners who value my papers and help me to score excellent marks.I commit my exams and my future into Your hands because the battle is Yours and Yours alone (Proverbs 21:31).Father, I thank You for listening to this prayer oered from the bottom of my heart and granting me victory. I expect great things from Your loving hands Master! I oer this prayer in the wonderful name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Amen.

“But by grace of God I am what I am “. (1Corin15:10) “You are a Jesus Youth ,right ?” on asking me this question ,my teacher who was a Non Christian turned to the class and told them “ Only Jesus Youth can be like this”. This had happened in a college where all students excluding me were Non Christians.‘Campus on Fire’, the programme that was held in Koothuparambu Nirmalagiri college on 22nd of October 2004……….The days spent thinking about

elopement & suicide, the

period in life when I was addicted to drinking and other bad habits,

on reaching home I

found myself picking up quarrels …….The time when I hated going home, all my time and money was spent in drinking and watching cinemas , when I found happiness in nothing, I wouldn’t attend Holy Mass or receive other sacraments even though my house was close to our Parish Church. I was fed up with life itself……….

When our Vicar Fr. Tommy announced the programme my parents and relatives approached me and compelled me to attend it. I ultimately gave in due to the constant pressure from the Vicar and family. All the way to the Retreat I was thinking about how I could waste away time during the retreat days. The rst day I sat at the very back of the hall without paying any attention to the classes. But on the second day as I listened to the class on sin, I realized it had been at most a year since I made my last confession. Thereaf-ter I confessed with a repen-tant heart......After

confes- sion ,the priest sent me to the Intercession hall

for penance and I was lled with remorse as I realized that I was the only person who was sent there and thought that this was because of the graveness of my

sin. The prayers of the JYs there were thought provoking. Then that incident during the Adora-tion that evening wherein I experienced our Lord......I had bruised my knee by hitting it against the bench on which I slept the previous night and it was with this pain that I had been sitting there. The brother who led the Adoration called out:”Jesus is removing the pain from the feet of a son whom he loves”. I tried moving my feet and suddenly I realized that the pain that was there till then had left me .And thus on that day I realized that Jesus loved me and he could heal me. Then I spoke to a Jesus Youth brother and our conversation ended with my rm resolution to become

a JY. That night the participants who slept

in my room were woken up by a loud cry. As they put on the lights, they saw me crying in my sleep, ‘I want to be a SAINT’.

I attended the concluding days of the Retreat with the burning desire to become a Saint. During those days I resolved before our Lord that I would give up drinking and other bad habits, thus leading a witnessing life

for Christ. On reaching home, for the rst time in life I talked with much love to my parents and siblings ,started spending time with them

every weekend , spent an hour every evening doing personal prayer. By the grace of God ,I was also able to detach myself from the bad company of friends and started praying for them.I went to my college and asked forgiveness to my teachers .I became a loving brother to all my friends. On the last day of our college as we sat together ,my friends who had been observing the changes in my life asked me:”How could you change like this Robin”?That was when as I had mentioned in the beginning , my teacher remarked “ You are a Jesus Youth , right ? Only a Jesus Youth can be like this. You all must follow Robin’s example”.In my native place ,many parents on observing the change that came over me, sent their children to JY retreats and asked me to pray for them. My Lord also blessed me to start a prayer group in my Parish. Many JYs especially Manoj , Joseph & Shonit through their prayers, activities & formations, all intended to built my leader-ship, helped me deepen my relationship with Kannur Zone. The Holy Spirit ‘s gift for one to one evangelization invoked in me the desire to bring many to leadership especially in bringing teenag-ers closer to Jesus. If I had encountered Jesus in my teenage years itself, I would have never ventured into the sins that I committed in my youth. This realization moti-vated me to take up the mission of leading teenagers to Jesus.I was made the Intercession coordinator for the programme conducted in

Kannur. For the programmes success , I decided to pray by kneeling on the small metal that is used to tar roads .I made small bundles of these metal and distributed it to all JYs in Kannur zone. Even after the programme I continued my prayer by kneeling on this bundle of metal. I continue this painful method prayer for the sanctication of teenagers. I am holding on to my resolution that I will become a Saint and am trying to live in holiness as a witness to Jesus . By establishing a good personal relationship with Jesus through prayer , reading, learning and meditating the word of God everyday, celebrating the Holy Mass in complete devotion and sincer-ity, making weekly confessions, developing a good relation-ship with all JYs, attending and leading prayer groups, formation programmes and retreats , I give Jesus to all whom I can in every single way possible.By living a witnessing life for Christ through my activities, conduct and by expressing compassion ,respect and love for my brethren especially the poor, orphaned and sick, helping them, I live with the zeal to become a Saint. My Lord allows me to do that.Even though my birthday is on 7th of September, I celebrate 22nd October as my birthday. This is because the Sculpture “ If you are not renewed in Christ , you will not enter the Kingdom of God” inspired me to live according to the word. My Lord helps me to learn his words by heart and sends me to those who thirst for his word. I can experience Jesus leading me through his words

in my personal life. Now my prayer is the Sculpture that says do “Here I am Lord , I come to do your will”.(Hebrews 10:7)After my initial retreat the rst word I learned was the word from the Gospel of St. Mathew ,chapter 6,verse 33, “But strive rst for the King-dom of God and his righ-teousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”. That day onwards I started living according to this word. I know the changes that have come over my life, family and community since then .When I gloried my Lord ,by living accordance to this word, my Lord gloried me in return by giving me a better job than all my friends in college.Initially I prayed and worked for the teenagers of Kannur .But today Jesus is letting me to work & pray for the teen-agers in Kerala , which amounts to about 30 lakhs. I am also blessed to be able to carry with me a pocket Bible always and on every birthday I spiritually adopt a country and pray for its evangeliza-tion.I in the name of Jesus ,request your prayers so that if it is in accordance with the will of God , I might be able to go to China for preaching the Gospel and live a witness-ing life for Christ, become a Saint, a Martyr ,the third Christ in this era.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am , and his grace towards me has not been in vain”. (1 Corinthians 15:10) ROBIN JOSEPH

Texting before going to bed 'aects sleep, mood' It may be time for you to put you cellphone aside before going to bed for it might aect your sleep and moods, according to a new study.Text messaging and other electronic communication media were linked to excessive movement during sleep, insomnia, and leg pain at night in students ages 8 to 22, Dr. Peter G. Polos of JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J., and colleagues found. The report linked "high rates of daytime cognitive or mood problems ... including ADHD, anxiety, depres-sion, learning dicul-ties," with late-night usage of mobiles and other electronic media."Attempts at limiting use at bedtime appear to be reasonable," ABC News quoted the researchers as saying. They suggested that parents set appropriate times for text messaging and other technology use and take proactive steps like moving computers out of the bedroom. The participants averaged 33.5 text messages or e-mails sent per night to an average of 3.7 people for a total of 3,404 text messages per person per month. These occurred from 10 minutes to four hours after bedtime."Research shows that the problem is increasing, so it is more important than ever for physicians to ask questions about technology use when evaluating children for sleep issues," said Dr. David D. Gutterman of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. 09
