For those of you that haven’t yet been acquainted, we are Kestrel Film Works. Our forte lies in, as you have probably guessed from our name, film production. Our portfolio to date ranges from short viral spots to documentaries created in conjunction with music videos.

This mailer that you have received will show you some of the various projects we are and have been working on since established back in 2009. Who We AreKestrel Film Works is a Sheffield and London based moving and still image production company. Founded by Hesky Tucker and David House in 2009 Kestrel has quickly moved up the ranks in the moving image industry, working for the likes of Boxfresh, Wall of Sound & red Bull, Kestrel has a strong ethos of consistently producing original and innovative image for its clients.

WhAt We DoCreating Moving Image has been a part of Hesky’s life since a teenager, when he was at college he won the young filmmakers award in Sheffield for two consecutive years in the field of both film and animation and went on to study some film degree at university.

Hesky and David are childhood friends who have shared a passion of film for many years (they had a bit of a Stand By Me upbringing). David comes from an unlikely construction background and with it brings knowledge in both business finance and set construction.

At the beginning Kestrel started out soley as a film production company, but since the arrival of photographer James Pollak, Kestrel has gone on to produce still imagery for make up artist such as AC RIno and musical artist such as The Loops Of Fury and J.Kas. We pride ourselves in creating innovative cinematic image for out clients in both short and long form outputs.

Lies -Lies is a short film Directed by Hesky Tucker and written by musician and political activist Jon McClure. The film focuses on the coming of age of a small boy who slowly begins to realize that a lot of what he is told as child (such as Santa being real) is in fact

Lies (so It was pretty much everyone on planet earth’s story). The project made it’s film debut at the acclaimed East End Film Festival in London, where it performed very well in the new British Talent category.

Through my Eyes started out as a personal project by Hesky at the end of 2010, the portfolio consist of an array of shots that he feels have defined his personal travels, from London to Sheffield, home life to social life. Each shot is natural, non-staged imagery that looks to show people life the way he sees it.

Through My eyes -

An example of our music promo and still image work, this piece was shot in Belgium for UK Hip Hop artist J.Kas. A promo that explores communication through culture it looks at people’s perspective on one word “Change”. A highly acclaimed piece in its own right it was also accompanied by a short Documentary that explored the peoples lives and opinions featured in the promo on a deeper level and a still image documentation of the whole journey.

this is an example of a short form viral we did for musical act Bubbz & the Black Notez.

The brief was to show the fans an insight into the bands personalities whilst exploring a typical gig day an how the band prepares for such an event.

The first project for James Pollak was to shoot model Karina Østerberg for AC Rino. James described the project as:

A cold, metallic pallet that then evolves through inspiration from AW11′s vibrant colours, drawing influences from traditional African headpieces to complete the contrast. Brought to life on a beautiful Scandinavian canvas, Karina Østerberg.
