Tetra Pak® leads the world market when it comes to carton packaging for beverages. Eight Hänel Lean-Lift® systems are installed at the company’s distribution center in Mexico City – six of the sys- tems are high-speed models. At this site employees process orders for spare parts needed for packag- ing and filling machinery in operation at Tetra Pak® subsidiaries around the world. The Hänel Lean-Lift® functions as an automated parts depot featuring ergonomic operation Eight vertical Hänel Lean-Lift® systems with a height of more than 29.53 ft/9 m provide an enor- mous amount of storage capacity. All kinds of spare parts are neatly organized and readily available within a small storage system footprint. The picking process is fast because employees do not have to walk around looking for parts. Vertical technology from Hänel improves workplace safety and opti- mizes ergonomics for employees in the distribution center. Thanks to the “goods to man” principle, there is no need to stoop, lift or climb ladders. Neat, efficient and well-organized parts storage Tetra Pak® relies on a vast pool of machinery installed worldwide – it goes without saying that the inventory of diverse spare parts stored in Mexico is huge. Hänel multifunction containers with flexible dividers and configuration options are ideal for coping with such massive invento- ries. Versatile bins and trays allow for the neat and compact storage of parts in various sizes and quantities. The robust Hänel multifunction containers are distortion-resistant and always retain their shape. Fast picking and precise inventory status control The eight Hänel Lean-Lifts® are operated with the compact MP 12N controller which features inte- grated warehouse management. Several employees working simultaneously retrieve parts from the Hänel systems and place them on transport carts for delivery to the shipping area nearby.
