The Dustdevils will face off with St. Mary’s University with first serve set for 7 p.m. TAMIU comes into Thursday’s match 0-2 on the road trip after falling to Heartland Conference leader, Arkansas-Fort Smith (0-3) and Newman University (0-3). Through 19 games this season, TAMIU sits at 2-17 overall and 0-5 in Heartland Conference action. The Dustdevils have won a pair of five-set matches but have been unable to get back into the win column since a 3-2 win over Arkansas-Monticello. SCOUTING THE RATTLERS: St. Mary’s comes into Thursday’s match as the Heartland Conference’s second ranked team. The Rattlers currently sit in a tie with Newman University at 3-2. StMU is 8-9 through 17 games thus far in the 2017 season. The Rattlers have won three of their last five matches but suffered a 0-3 loss to UAFS on October 7. Channing Hankins, Bree Perry, and Monica Ramon pace the Rattlers offensively. Hankins leads the team with 208 kills while Perry has tallied 565 assists through 17 games. Ramon leads the Rattlers with 20 aces. Ramon and also accounts for the most digs with a team leading 308. Jaycie Pluenneke and MacKenzie Harless serve as the Rattlers top blockers. Pluenneke has a team high 48 while Harless has tallied 47 blocks. The Rattlers dealt TAMIU a pair of losses in the 2016 campaign with the last matchup coming on November 10, 2016. SAN ANTONIO, Texas (October 11, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team concludes a two-week, three-game road trip on Thursday in San Antonio. The Dustdevils will face off with St. Mary’s University with first serve set for 7 p.m.

TAMIU comes into Thursday’s match 0-2 on the road trip after falling to Heartland Conference leader, Arkansas-Fort Smith (0-3) and Newman University (0-3). Through 19 games this season, TAMIU sits at 2-17 overall and 0-5 in Heartland Conference action. The Dustdevils have won a pair of five-set matches but have been unable to get back into the win column since a 3-2 win over Arkansas-Monticello.

SCOUTING THE RATTLERS:St. Mary’s comes into Thursday’s match as the Heartland Conference’s second ranked team. The Rattlers currently sit in a tie with Newman University at 3-2. StMU is 8-9 through 17 games thus far in the 2017 season. The Rattlers have won three of their last five matches but suffered a 0-3 loss to UAFS on October 7.

Channing Hankins, Bree Perry, and Monica Ramon pace the Rattlers offensively. Hankins leads the team with 208 kills while Perry has tallied 565 assists through 17 games. DUSTDEVIL LEADERS:Not much has changed among the Dustdevil leaders as five Dustdevils continue to lead the team. Leah McManus leads the team with 144 kills while Ronnie Fountain leads the team with 472 assists. Yuliia Hupkovska holds the top ace number, tallying 18 thus far. Lacy Asdourian and Panebi Shirey continue to anchor the Dustdevils defensively. Asdourian has 241 digs this season and Shirey leads the team with 41 blocks.

Susie Jangada was named the Texas A&M International University volleyball head coach in February 2015. Jangada enters her third season as the Head Coach in the Fall 2017 season.

Prior to her time at TAMIU, Jangada was an assistant coach at Arkansas State University from 2013-2015. Jangada was in charge of recruiting, supervision of the student-athletes, coordinating and supervising practices, overseeing travel, along with monitoring academic progress of the student-athletes.

In her 2014 season with the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Jangada’s team finished 3rd in the Sun Belt Conference with a 15-5 conference

record (21-10 overall). In addition to this, the Red Wolves had a first-team All-American Player on the squad.

In 2013, she was part of a staff that helped the Red Wolves to a 15-20 record and the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals. Her middle blockers were responsible for 218 total blocks on the year, including 31 block solos, and were efficient at limiting block errors with only 15 on the season.

Jangada was at Jacksonville University in 2012. She went to Jacksonville following a two-year coaching stint at Bluffton-Harrison High School in Indiana.Prior to Bluffton, she coached at Houston Baptist University and helped it to a 26-3 record during the 2007-08 year. The Huskies ended the season winning 18 of their final 19 matches.

Jangada began her collegiate coaching career at Centenary College of Louisiana during the 2006-2007 campaign. She has also spent time serving as a volleyball camp instructor at University of Florida, Florida Southern College, the University of Tampa, and Ball State.

Susie and her husband, Wenderson; have a daughter, Liriana; and a son, Ferguson. Wenderson is a native of Brazil, a former professional boxer, and served in the 82nd Airborne in the Army.

In her free time, Yuliia enjoys spending time with friends and going to the movies.

Alejandra is the daughter of Mario and Joanne Bustamante. She has one sister, Mariela Bustamante. Bustamante chose TAMIU because she believes it is the best option to help her succeed in her future endeavors. Inspirational people in her life are Dick and Rick Hoyt, a father and son who participate in triathlons together even though Rick suffers from being a spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy. After TAMIU Alejandra aspires to be a Physical Therapist. In her spare time she enjoys dancing.

After TAMIU, Asdourian plans on pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher. In her free time Lacy enjoys spending time with friends and family.

In her free time, Panebi enjoys being goofy and laughing, hanging out with friends, listening to Beyonce, or watching movies....especially Disney movies.

Rodriguez is the daughter of Myra Garza and granddaughter of Maria Alicia Garza. Mya chose TAMIU for its multi-cultural environment, the opportunity to study abroad, low student to faculty ratio, the proximity to home, and to play volleyball. Her most inspirational figure is her Mom. After TAMIU Mya wants to research Psychology at a large University and become a psychology professor. In her free time, Mya enjoys volunteering at her local library, reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family.

Megan is the daughter of Angela and Timothy Unrath and is a sister to Justin and Ryan. Megan chose TAMIU because the University has a great study abroad and language program, it’s affordable, it has a great student to teacher ratio, and it gave her the ability to play collegiate volleyball. Her inspiration is Jesus. After TAMIU Megan would like to work with the United Nations as a Translator. In her spare time Megan enjoys reading, blogging, practicing calligraphy, spending time with family, painting her nails, and singing.

Ronnie is the daughter of Karen and Ronnie Fountain and is a sister to Nicki Cornejo, Mandi Wilson, Ashley Fountain, and Jon-Eric Fountain. Ronnie chose TAMIU because of the atmosphere that surrounds the school. The biggest factor was the girls on the team and the coaches. The coaches definitely sold me on the school, but what got me most was their love for the volleyball program. for my next 2 years!” Her inspirational figures are her sisters. After TAMIU Fountain wants to teach biology and coach volleyball at the high school level. In her free time, Fountain enjoys working out, reading, or hanging out with friends.

After TAMIU Cami will pursue a masters degree in civil engineering and hopes to become an assistant volleyball coach to pay for classes.
