Introduction to Confession General

My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate these sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins. As we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ's love, let us acknowledge our failures and ask the Lord for pardon and strength. Coming together as God's family, with confidence let us ask the Father's forgiveness, for he is full of gentleness and compassion. Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, firmly resolved to keep God's commandments and to live in love and peace with all people.

 Saints

We run the race set before us, surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses. Therefore let us lay aside every weight, and sin, bringing them to Jesus in penitence and faith.

 Advent

When the Lord comes,he will bring to light things now hidden in darkness, and will disclose the purposes of the heart. In that light, we confess our sins.

 Christmas

The angel said, you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. We confess our sins in penitence and faith.

 Epiphany

The grace of God has dawned upon the worldwith healing for all. Though we have grieved him, yet he will heal us if we confess our sins in penitence and faith.

 Lent

The sacrifice of God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart he will not despise. Our sin is always before us: we acknowledge our transgressions in penitence and faith. Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds we are healed. Let us confess our sins.

 Cross

God shows his love for us in this: while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Sure of reconciliation through the death of his Son, we confess our sins to God.

 Ascension

Jesus is our high priest, tempted like us, yet without sin. He lives for ever in heaven to intercede for us. Through him we approach the throne of grace with confidence, and confess our sins.

 Healing

The grace of God has dawned upon the world with healing for all. Let us come to him, in sorrow for our sins, seeking healing and salvation.

 Family

Jesus said, before you offer your gift, go and be reconciled. As brothers and sisters in God's family, we come together to ask our Father for forgiveness.

Confessions Lent, Advent

Introductions to the prayers

Let us pray for the Church of God in Christ Jesus, and for allpeople according to their needs. Let us pray for the Church and for the world, and let us thank God for his goodness As we celebrate the Holy Eucharist to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for all his mercies, let us pray for his Church in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs. Father, we are your children, your Spirit lives in us and we are in your Spirit: hear us, for it is your Spirit who speaks through us as we pray. My brothers and sisters, God our Father wants all mankind to be saved and calls us to the knowledge of the truth. Let us pray to him with all our hearts. In the power of the Spirit and in union with Christ Jesus let us pray to God our heavenly Father. Let us come before the Lord with our prayers and praises asking him to look with mercy upon all our requests. When two or three are gathered in my name, there I shall be. Let us therefore bring our prayers to the Father. Trusting in God's love and mercy, let us turn to him in prayer and bring him our needs and intercessions. We have a great high priest who lives to intercede for us. Let us in union with him, pray to the Father.Let us bring our prayers before the throne of Grace in humility and love.  My brothers and sisters, God our Father wants all mankind to be saved and calls us to the knowledge of the truth, let us pray to him with all our hearts. My brothers and sisters, through this common prayer, let us pray to our Fathernot only for ourselves and our own needs, but for each other and all whom we know.

Dear friends, we are gathered to celebrate the mystery of our salvation in Jesus Christ. Eucharistic Prayer B

Lord, you are holy indeed, the source of all holiness;grant that by the power of your Holy Spirit, and according to your holy will, these gifts of bread and winemay be to us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ;who, in the same night that he was betrayed, took bread and gave you thanks;he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying:

Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you;do this in remembrance of me.

In the same way, after supperhe took the cup and gave you thanks;he gave it to them, saying:

Drink this, all of you;this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for allfor the forgiveness of sins.Do this, as often as you drink it,in remembrance of me.   Let us proclaim the mystery of faith…

And so, Father, calling to mind his death on the cross, his perfect sacrifice made once for the sinsof the whole world;rejoicing in his mighty resurrectionand glorious ascension, and looking for his coming in glory,we celebrate this memorial of our redemption.

As we offer you this our sacrifice

of praise and thanksgiving,we bring before you this bread and this cupand we thank you for counting us worthyto stand in your presence and serve you.Send the Holy Spirit on your peopleand gather into one in your kingdomall who share this one bread and one cup,so that we, in the company of Our Blesséd Lady, St. Anne, St Cecilia and St Edward, [along with St. N] and all the saints,may praise and glorify you for ever,through Jesus Christ our Lord;

by whom, and with whom, and in whom,in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory be yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever. All Amen. The Mass continues with the Lord’s Prayer
