A Traditional Christmas in Stowe Special Event Application
Summary: Attached is a Special Event Permit Application from Stowe Vibrancy for the 8th
annual A Traditional Christmas in Stowe, to be held the weekend of December 1-3, 2017. This is
a recurring event that takes place throughout Stowe, with many of the activities focused in the
Village. The event features an author reading at the library, lantern parade and tree lighting on
Friday night, live reindeer in the Village Green, wagon rides throughout the Village, and
activities at several businesses such as gingerbread house building, cookie decorating and candy
cane making. New this year, the Stowe Theatre Guild will be performing a Christmas play in the
Town Hall Theatre. Organizers anticipate 250-300 people on Friday evening, 500-1,000 people
on Saturday and 250 people on Sunday. Chief Hull has worked with Stowe Vibrancy on a police
agreement for traffic control.
