DAY 3 WEDNESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER Baptismal Site Mt Nebo Madaba Petra Visit Bethany Beyond the Jordan one of the most recent archaeological and religious discoveries The five springs here form a tributary of the Jordan River and are believed to be the Baptismal site of Jesus by John the Baptist Drive down to the Jordan Valley to Mt Nebo from where Moses viewed the Promised Land and is buried and visit Madaba to view the ancient mosaic of Jerusalem Transfer to Petra for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 4 THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER Petra Enjoy a full day to explore ldquothe rose - red cityrdquo of Petra which from 300 BC was inhabited by Nabateans Take a walk through the dramatic ldquociqrdquo or canyon See the Treasury carved out of the pink stone and continue past the Roman Theatre the Corinthian Tomb and Palace Tomb to the Roman road If time permits climb up to the Monastery Return to our nearby hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 6 SATURDAY 12 SEPTEMBER Cana Nazareth Nazareth Village Start with a visit to Cana scene of the First Miracle and visit the Church of the Wedding Then go to Nazareth and see the oldest Church of the Annunciation with Maryrsquos Well Then proceed to Nazareth Village an excavated village dating from around 1 AD The excavations have carefully renovated the synagogue and houses and give a unique insight into village life and agriculture as it would have been at the time of Jesus Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 7 SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER Sea of Galilee Capernaum Tabgha Mt of Beatitudes Jordan River Visit the first century ldquoJesus Boatrdquo found at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee from Tiberias to Capernaum there we will see an ancient synagogue and St Peterrsquos house which was later converted into a church Also visit Tabgha site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes Continue to the Mt of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount is remembered Return to our hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 12 FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER Masada Ein Gedi Dead Sea Qumran Bethany Start the day with a visit to Masada the last stronghold of Jewish resistance to the Romans and afterwards continue with a visit to Ein Gedi We will also have time for a dip into the salty waters of the Dead Sea Drive on to Qumran where the Essene enclave was and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden and later discovered Drive up through the Judean hills to Bethany home of Martha Mary and Lazarus and see the wine-press before we return to the hotel and enjoy our final dinner and overnight in Jerusalem (BD)

DAY 12 FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER Masada Ein Gedi Dead Sea Qumran Bethany Start the day with a visit to Masada the last stronghold of Jewish resistance to the Romans and afterwards continue with a visit to Ein Gedi We will also have time for a dip into the salty waters of the Dead Sea Drive on to Qumran where the Essene enclave was and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden and later discovered Drive up through the Judean hills to Bethany home of Martha Mary and Lazarus and see the wine-press before we return to the hotel and enjoy our final dinner and overnight in Jerusalem (BD)
DAY 13 SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER Depart Jerusalem Allenby Depart Jerusalem this morning for our journey back to the Allenby Bridge and the crossing back into Jordan Continue to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman where we check for our Etihad flights back to Abu Dhabi and then onwards back to Australia Philippines (B)
