Blessed and Happy Easter!

Lomas and all of the volunteers for our very first Fiesta Celebra-

Prince and Princesses of each grade level were crowned by our

own Fr. Eric Ritter and Miss San Antonio, Rebecca Mendoza

( alumna of St. Luke) as well as Mrs. Buhrman and myself. Pro-

ceeds will help with our “Blacktop” Renovation. Thank you to all

you do to help in all endeavors!

Fiesta San Antonio, previously called Fiesta San Jacinto, is a ten-

day festival held every spring in San Antonio. It originated in the

1891 flower parade conceived by Ellen Maury Slayden, wife of

Congressman James L. Slayden, as an April 21 salute to the

heroes of the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. A group of

San Antonio women formed the Battle of Flowers Association.

That historic commemoration still takes place, but for more than a

century, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's rich

and diverse cultures.

We hope you have a wonderful Fiesta with your family and friends

–and are able to enjoy the Battle of Flowers Parade, NIOSA, King

William Fair and other great events in the city!

Blessed Fiesta and Easter!

Fiesta Spirit at St. Luke

It was a great day to celebrate Fiesta at St. Luke! The day began with Mass led by our Kindergarten classes. Following Mass,

the student body lined the hallways to see the amazing creations in the Pre-Kinder and Kinder Fiesta Float Parade. Festivities continued in the afternoon with a performance by St. Anthony Catholic High School’s Mariachi group with St. Luke Alum Sebas-tian Caballero on the violin and a visit from St. Luke alum and current Miss San Antonio, Ms. Rebecca Mendoza. Ms. Mendoza helped with the introduction of St. Luke’s Royal Fiesta Court. Many thanks to all students who participated in the Royal Fiesta

Court Fundraiser!
