Message from the President
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Dr. Biagio Adile has proposed Palermo, Italy as venue of the international meeting
convened by the IPFDS and the FIGO Task Force on Pelvic Floor Medicine and
Reconstructive Surgery. This Meeting will have two important aspects, firstly the
academic one; it will gather International Opinion Leaders that will show their personal
and worldwide experience on topics of permanent review. Secondly, the breathtaking
views of Sicily will allow completing the attractiveness of this meeting.
The personal contact with friends and colleagues will complete the ideal framework of
this event.
We look forward to seeing you all in Palermo.

Message from the Congress Presidents
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the 7th IPFDS Congress of the International Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Society
hosted in Palermo. Palermo is the eternal city with its well known mixture of ancient
grandeur and modern international metropolis.
It has over 1.500.000 inhabitants with all the advantages and draw backs which such a
large and cosmopolitan population brings. We hope that the high level of the Scientific
program put together with the hard work of the Scientific Committee will not prevent you
from taking a little time to visit at least a few of the most striking historical sites (Teatro
Massimo, Palermo and Monreale Cathedrals, the beautiful Mondello).
The Scientific Program is becoming always richer and more varied. Beside the classical
podium and poster sessions there are State of the Art Lectures and FIGO reports,
Workshops and minisymposia. We wish to express our thanks to the major sponsors,
supporters and exhibitors, which every year make this scientific event possible,
particularly appreciated this year in a time of economic recession.
We look forward to welcoming you in our magnificent city and wish you a productive and
enjoyable stay in Palermo.
Sincerely Yours
Biagio Adile – Antonino Perino
