About OrganizersTrafo Mumbai is organized by Knowledge careCluster Pvt Ltd in association with IEEE, Independent Expert speakers, Altanova, SMSytems, Cargill, Easun MR Etc. We also invite expert speakers from the utility / industry to share their expertise in line with the theme of Trafocare. Over 400 power engineers have participated in earlier workshops. This mission survives on sponsorship and delegate fees. Team Trafocare is committed to work in the direction of our mission for conservations of transformers, swachh trafo abhiyan, Tx Fire & Safety and other topics that are important for the utilities, industries, OEMs and consumers.
Workshop on Transformer
August 7‐8, 2018, Tuesday & Wednesday MUMBAI - INDIA
Swachh Trafo Abhiyan
About CareTrafoTrafo is mission for conservation of careTransformers. Maintaining outside warranty transformers – hundreds & thousands of them – is a task of every utility & industry. Trafocare is an opportunity to see big picture of collective transformer fleet of dozens of utilities/industries and an attempt to sensitize towards the mission. Case study, Experience sharing, discussions and debates on real life transformer issues ‐ clarify doubts and gets exposed to knowledge outside the organization.
Trafo objective is that the known knowledge Careis discussed and that should help the end users ‐ To maintain their outside warranty transformers ‐To maintain their new transformers‐To decide on specs of buying new transformers
Since 2014 five workshops are conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Why General workshop?Organizing such workshop in‐house exclusively for individual organization is not practically possible. However general workshop at common place gives time saving, cost sharing & Knowledge sharing advantage. Trafo is a unique niche carep l a t f o r m w h i c h e n c o u r a g e s discussions/interactions “Gyansabha” (avoids one way communication.) For quality of discussion during the workshop and quality engagement, we limit number of delegates and arrange them in comfortable round table cluster seating.

Transformer Fire & SafetyFire incidences in power & distribution transformers are not uncommon. However, recently in the rarest of rare transformer fire accident 21 people died. Hence through the mission for Transformer Fire & Safety, we would
like to sensitize all the individuals/stakeholders to work in the direction of ‘zero transformer fire accidents and safety to personnel around it’.
Distribution Transformers are installed in the public premises. Such property is subjected to different kind of abuse by public too. The reason for transformer fire are not only technical (OEM or O&M) but are contributed directly/indirectly by the consumers and other elements in society too.
Our aim is this topic is discussed – corrective & preventive actions by other utilities/industries are shared. Already implemented solutions/case studies are shared and “Latest problem statements” are defined. This can be an exercise where additional field study is required. During this discussion process ‐ “problem solving approach” shall be discussed and we make progress in the direction to minimize the issue of Transformer Fire and Safety.
We are also trying to request and invite authorities from CEA & Fire department for experience sharing, discussion and guidance.

Utility / Industry Transformer issuesRespected engineers from utilities and industries are requested to send transformer related issues to team trafocare; We will do our best to cover it in respective speakers’ topics. Also before and after the workshop, we will continue to work on the respective threads of issues. Gyansabha is the best opportunity to discuss one problem from all angles of OEM, End user, Field expert, Lab Expert, Transformer component experts etc. Every problem may not have a quick solution that works for all. Some of the issue may need more involved work, field study n research, involvement of more parties which do not fit in regular course of business. Trafocare is committed to work in the direction of our mission for conservations of transformers, swachh trafo abhiyan, Tx Fire & Safety and other issues feaced by the utilities, industries, OEMs and consumers.
Note: W e a r e e x p e c t i n g i n p u t s f r o m t h e utilities/industries for topics of their choice, accordingly expert speakers will change their presentations in the large interest of the audience. We encourage more real life questions & discussions, you are most welcome to submit your points of interests, questions to tune the presentations accordingly.

Swachh Trafo AbhiyanFrom our past experience of workshops, we
realized small problems like transformer
gaskets/oil leakages are not even considered as
technical problems by industry. And utilities/fleet
owners are helpless with fleet of thousands of
transformers and it is practically not possible to
take outage and replace all the gaskets. This has
triggered sensitising on this small but significant
issue and we started “Swachh Trafo Abhiyan”.
Mission – Swachh Trafo Abhiyan Forming Cluster of utilities and industries for
experience sharing on this issue. Sensitising leakage is not just loss of oil but door
for moisture ingress, fire, environment issue. Auditing for Housekeeping & Keep it Tight. Keep
it Clean. Keep it Cool. Existing transformers leaks should be arrested by
right material & methods. Can we design and manufacture new
transformers for our next generation that won’t
leak during its lifetime?
We are sure that cluster of utilities and industries
participating in this mission shall do the
experience sharing on specifications, vendor
qualifications, Design review, QAP, Inspections,
transportation etc.

Heavy Duty Cable Lubricant
Key Features• Dyna‐Blue® Reduces coeffitient of friction between cable Jacket & Surface of the cable : Increase Cable Life• Clean ‐ Easy To Use• Stays Slippery ‐ Won’t Dry Out
Cable Pulling SoftwareThe software calculates cable pulling tension and sidewall pressure around bends using the pulling equations. The software also utilizes industry standards to calculate maximum pulling tension and conduit fill. Tension estimates are useful in designing conduit systems and planning cable pulls. Such planning can save time and money by minimizing splices, vaults, pulling set-ups, etc., while ensuring installation tensions that won’t damage cable. Cables are susceptible to damage when sidewall bearing pressure limits are exceeded, making preplanning extremely important. The program runs on English or metric units.
