Cine Equipment Pte Ltd was established by Tng Siew Moi in
1995 as a one stop shop for film and lighting equipment in
South East Asia. Over the years, the company and its
subsidiaries in Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Philippines and
Taiwan have become noted for their expertise and foresight

into the Asia Pacific region. In the new millennium, the
company ventured into the Digital Intermediate market with

Peter graduated from the Swedish National Film School in
1978. He holds a long-standing career in the film world
working as a Film and Sound Editor in several European
countries. Peter Co-Founded Vintage Cloud in Copenhagen
Denmark and went on to acquire the brand name of the
famous good old film days Steenbeck Company. The
company has since become one of the world leader in the
technologies required to ensure the fast and safe
digitization of valuable film archives. Our goal is to help
customers to quickly and easily monetize their assets by
making them more accessible with tools that are
cost-effective, innovative and intuitive and designed for the
delicate task. Our founders have collectively over 80 years
of experience in the movie industry – experience which has
seen the development of the Vintage Cloud Steenbeck, the

We want film to be watched in a high quality. We have designed our Steenbeck
Digitizer so it is simple to digitize film in high quality and compensate for damages
caused by the natural aging of film. It has to be easy to find the content you are
looking for and our Smart Indexing uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to index the content
and make it searchable while we digitize.
Our indexing has more than 11,000 objects and face recognition
We use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify more than 11,000 objects and the
number of objects is growing every day.
Our system can identify faces and you can search for names once the face has been
recognized. All our customers benefit from the same database with names and faces
recognized.
Speech to text will be added soon to the system.
Searching for content is easy and intuitive
Our search engine is built for film people and use thumbnails to give you a perfect
overview of the content you search for.
We prioritize search results after relevance and you can choose probability levels in
order to increase or decrease number of matching results.
Smart Indexing is available for all digitized content
Smart Indexing is seamlessly integrated with our Steenbeck Digitizer, so the content
automatically is indexed when the film is digitized.
Smart Indexing can also be used for digital content not digitized on our Steenbeck
Digitizer.
Smart Indexing is a cloud based service
Smart Indexing is cloud based so you can access our service from all web
connected devices.
With our API, Smart Indexing can be integrated into existing MAM systems.
High security and no copyright issues
Smart Indexing is based on key frames (one every third second) so our cloud service
only contains those key frames, not the entire film.
When we only store key frames, we eliminate the risk of hacking as well as all
copyright issues, and at the same time it makes our search much faster and creates
a better overview of results.

Film on a shelf has no value…
With the help of Vintage Cloud, you can bring your film archives back to life through
digitization and even monetize those assets with the use of metadata.
All our solutions are built on the famous Steenbeck film transport which has more than
60 years of mechanical expertise.
Broadcasters and film archives are struggling with the fact that they need to transfer
their audio-visual treasures before it is too late. Transfers are traditionally undertaken
by Telecine hardware or data scanners, both of which are slow and costly.
Broadcasters estimate that they are looking at a 25 to 40-year timespan in order to
complete this task.
It is our belief that after the decision to digitize film archives has been made, the
transfer period should not exceed a 5-year period, due to the complexity of migrating
digital formats in the future.
We at Vintage Cloud have spent several years investigating film archive needs, testing
equipment and building workflows to do the job. We found there was no specialized
equipment available in the market, so we decided to build the first truly dedicated film
archive digitization system. Together with DTU (Technical University of Denmark) we
have developed a new super-efficient light source. We found a sensor fast enough to
transfer moving images at the highest quality. Finally, we improved the stability of the
Grand Master of film transport – Steenbeck, with over 60 year of time proved safe film
handling, fast yet gentle.
With Vintage Cloud Steenbeck, the speed of transferring film archives has been
