The school was abuzz with activities on 22nd April and
celebrated 'World Earth Day'. The students made a
formation of 'SAVE EARTH' in the morning assembly. They
were shown slides on Nature Conservation. Banners and
colourful charts reading "Go Green" and "Plant a Tree Today"
were put up. Students painted their thoughts on topic 'Nature
Conservations'. All over the campus they unfurled the
message of the importance of preserving planet earth.

In order to impart practical knowledge about the basic legal rights and remedies provided under Indian Laws a talk was organized on May 14, 2013, for class XI & XII students, in which Mr. Sanjay Kundra, ASI, Hisar laid stress on how young students can help in grass roots development and can lead social movements to enforce the right of poor marginalized people and to challenge operation, exploitation and discrimination against any group or individual on the ground of caste, gender disability or religion.

Ragav (Class VI) bagged the first prize in Drawing Competition organized by Satya Sai Samiti on May 5,2013 and proved his creative skills.
Through his workshop Mr. Gagan Oberoi, a social worker and
an activist, exhorted the young students to adopt vegetarianism
and gave useful tips for healthy eating. He focused on low
sugar, low fat and unprocessed food. In the hectic life style of
today only nutritional life style can promote good health. Rather
than getting attracted by advertisement and packaging we
should check the labels of nutrients and ingredients.

Visit to Cotton MillA group of 50 students led by our science faculty visited H.P.Cotton Mill at Mayyar on May 9, 2013 which sits in a beautiful rural setting. The visit to the site offered an exciting learning opportunity to the students. They came to know the Textile manufacturing major industry and how cotton, the most important natural fiber is treated in depth. The technicians elaborated how spinning and fabric forming stages coupled with the complexities of the finishing and coloring process provide wide ranges of products. They visited the various parts of the mill like
carding room, willowing area and witnessed Mule spinning, Ring spinning Winding, Bundling, Bleaching, Slashing, Weaving and Spooling etc.

A group of 12 students with Mr. Satish Garg as the mentor, attended a 3 day camp of Scouts and Guides at Ambala, which was an amalgam of learning and enjoyment and helped the students in recognizing their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual growth.

A group of 40 students led by teachers Mrs.

Shalu Jain and Mr. Rohtash recharged
themselves by climbing the steep
mountains and braving chilly winds of
Himalayas in their tour to Kullu and Manali.
The route was flooded with the wild flowers
of all possible colours. The hotel was a
magical selection of fantastic views and
tastefully plush interior. The feather in the
cap was the food, tasty and healthy.
Students enjoyed river rafting, snow-clad
peaks, sublime sunset and a barrage of
photographs followed with of course
inevitable shopping. The journey was a fairy
tale come alive.
Relished the Tour to Kullu Manali….
A week long summer camp was organized from May25 to May 31,2013, in our school
premises to enable our students to cope with real life situations and to improve seven
magical skills: Creativity, Action, Vision, Confidence, Passion, Courage and Trust. During
this time sessions on Yoga, Dance, Music, Personal Grooming, Communication Skills,
Pronunciation Skills and Spoken English were organized by Mrs. Neha Chaudhary, Mrs.
Rekha Malik, Miss Nitesh Kumari along with all Primary Teachers. A warm treat was
provided to the students, not to forget the certificates. The school was a beehive of
enthusiasm as the students whole heartedly involved and engrossed themselves in a
myriad of activities.

A group of 12 girls, attended a workshop at Bahadurgarh, on youth programmes floated by Satya Sai Samiti. There they got a chance to attend lectures on life psychology, life skills, spirituality and health by eminent personalities of India.
Mrs. Seema Kakkar and Mrs. Arvind Mehta attended a workshop on 'Teaching Skills of English' at 'Moga Devi Minda Memorial School' Bagla Road , Adampur, Hisar on 31st August,2013.
Twenty-four teacher delegates attended a workshop on 'Effective Teaching and Teacher-student Relationship' at Midtown Grand, Hisar organized by PDCPA.
The School proudly hosted a district level Drawing Competition floated by Bharat Vikas Parishad on its 50th anniversary in which Rakshit (XI), Amisha (VIII) and Nisha (VIII) got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. Students and Teachers of the all schools enjoyed the warm treat at the end of occasion.
We were privileged to host the district level Chess Competition. An eminent personality, Major General (Retired) D R Vats, graced the occasion as the chief guest and addressed the delegates. The programme was followed by a cultural programme. It was a two day programme packed with a series of activities.
To encourage active student participation in bringing about a change and reformation of society a group of students along with Mrs. Rekha Malik and Mrs. Anita Lamba visited Nai Raahei'n. There the students of both schools got a chance to understand each other and to have fun.
The Students were deeply motivated and inspired by the presence of Mr. Bhargava, Mr. Umesh and Mrs. Tara Sharma and absorbed their words of wisdom.
ObituaryThakur Dass Bhargava Sr. Sec. Model School family pays condolence to Mr. Rajiv Sharma PGT (English) on his mother's demise on September 3, 2013. We pray that departed soul may rest in peace.

Tiny Toddlers Visited Post OfficeJuly 27, 2013
Excursions are means of educating ourselves on how certain things work and how we rely on certain services. In this session, 51 students of Primary Wing with their teachers Mrs. Anubha Suthar and Mrs. Manju Aneja visited local general post office. They were taken around to see how letters are collected, segregated, stamped and stored in pigeon holes for the postmen to collect. They also came to know about the end of the Telegram System which was introduced in 1853 by Lord Dalhosie. It was something out of ordinary for children.

The advent of July raised the school's enthusiasm for Mother Earth and Forest Conservation. It was a delight to see the students of Environmental Club planting and watering trees. Mr. R.P. Dhanda (Joint Commissioner, Income Tax Department) the guest of honour of the day, planted saplings in the school premises. The second guest of honour Mr. Ashok Garg, an eminent photographer, also planted plants. Mr. Om Parkash Kaushik, a social worker was also honoured on the occasion, He interacted with the students sharing with them how he was motivated to work on conservation of plants and to save water for the future when he was working as a soldier in army. Our tiny toddlers presented a cultural show on the occasion. The presentation provided food for thought to all that if timely corrective steps are not taken, our lives would surely become very unsafe and uncertain.
41 NCC cadets of the School along with 3rd Officer Mr. Subhash Chander got the opportunity to watch the passing out parade of new police recruits,
upholding the law of land and new responsibilities. They were sensitizied with a strong sense of justice and fairness together with a sense of patriotism and honour. Mr. Vashishta, DGP Haryana, was the Chief Guest of the occasion.

They got a chance to know about the defenders of the sky, the contribution of men and women in blue, in the air and on the ground and marvelled at their magnificent air craft.

On July31, 2013, the school bade farewell to our beloved Mrs. Maya Khurana. She has retired after putting in 28 years of fruitful and dedicated service to the school. A special programme was organized in her honour in which members of staff recalled how she was always eager to put the school before her own comfort. Mrs. Khurana thanked everyone and blessed the school. The programme was followed by a sumptuous lunch hosted by Mrs. Khurana at her residence.

To honor the best teachers and best students of each school of Hisar, a program was floated by Bharat Vikas Parishad at Sushila Bhawan, Hisar. Our ideal, analytical dutiful and expert teacher Mrs. Maya Khurana earned the award for best teacher and Vanshika (VIII A) drew the huge student crowd. The school choir group with their song "Sangram Jindgi Hai Ladna Use Padega" also took part in group song competition organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad.

TalkIn a talk organized for class XI & XII on “How to prepare for the exams”. Vishal, our ex-student, who scored 94.8% in Commerce, interacted with the students along with his grandparents .He guided them about importance of time management and discipline in life.

Our computer genius Ravinder Payal (Class X C) has created and launched a social networking site on Aug. 28,2013 named www.funnenjoy.com. It provides free ad posting on line games and can create pages. It was also represented in regional level science exhibition floated by CBSE and earned admiration of the viewers. Users can share thoughts, give comments, make friends, share videos, chat and play hundreds of games which are totally free. Now Ravinder is trying to make a fast and secure mobile application based on this website.

We are delighted that Misal, the Head Girl of our school had earned the 'Best Guide Award' by showing her best foot forward. She was awarded this award on August 6, 2013, in Chandigarh by Mr. Jaggan Nath Paharia, the Governor of Haryana. Mr. Bhupender Singh Hooda, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Haryana, also congratulated her.
To make the students recognize and appreciate the elderly population for their values and contributions made to their families and society, a Drawing Competition was organized in Gymkhana Club. Various schools took part in the competition in which Thakur Dass Bhargava Sr. Sec. Model School bagged several prizes and cash amount to Rs. 500/- to all the position holders.

Yogita and Misal earned special prize in open quiz and got to know how technological edges are paving the way for a new era in space.

An ultimate patriotic stir of emotions charged the whole atmosphere on the auspicious occasion of the Independence Day when Principal Sir unfurled the tricolour. This was followed by a colourful presentation of cultural events. Students presented a mélange of patriotism in our school premises. Card making and inter-house Dance Competition were organized on the occasion which made the environment frolicsome.

The beautiful bond of love and protection, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in a unique and innovative way. A group of students, along with Mrs. Neha Chaudhary and Mrs. Anita Lamba were welcomed by our soldiers in the portals of the Hisar cantonment. Following all rituals students applied Tilak on their foreheads and tied Rakhis on their wrists praying for their happiness and prosperity. The soldier brothers, in turn, vowed to protect their sisters and ward off all evil. It was an unforgettable moment. Students also got a chance to know about military traditions and their services towards Nation.

The festival of Janamashtmi was celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour. Our tiny toddlers enacted Krishna, Radha, Meera, Balram and other characters from Hindu mythology. To imbibe the principles and teachings of Lord Krishna the toddlers presented 'Jhankis' depicting events from Krishna's life like: Govardhan Pooja, Rasleela, Krishna-Sudama Milan, Krishna Janam etc. 'Matki Phod' Competition was also organized. Principal P.K. Patpatia congratulated the students on their enthralling performances.

Thakur Dass Bhargava Sr. Sec. Model School proudly hosted a 3 day District Level Science Exhibition so as to popularize and inculcate scientific temper among children. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. M.L.Kaushik , Deputy Commissioner of Hisar. The event saw around 250 students showcasing their talents in the form of exhibiting models and methods that were useful and sustainable in protecting health environment. At valedictory function the Chief Guest Mrs. Darshana Devi, District Education Officer, Hisar appreciated the efforts of the students in making it a grand success.
Teacher's Day was celebrated to express gratefulness to the selfless contribution made by teachers .
To pay reverence and gratitude, students kicked off the day with 'Guru Vandan'. They applied tilak on their foreheads, touched their feet, and presented greeting cards as a token of love and admiration.
A special assembly was organized by Class X students in which they enacted a skit 'The Story of Anurag' directed by Mrs. Rekha Malik to convey the indebtness. All the teachers were felicitated by the warm wishes and showers of emotions by our students.
