About HERC• HERC is a non-profit association, founded in 2000 by
campuses in Northern California to address dual-career and diversity challenges
• Now in 18 regions representing more than 25 U.S. states and the District of Columbia
• Over 600 member institutions, including public and private colleges and universities, teaching hospitals, government labs and agencies, and other entities with a related mission.

• Prior to 2014, the national coordinating office consisted of just 1.5 FTE: a director and a part-time assistant.
• Recent changes have added a Marketing & Communications Manager and a Technology & Data.

Advertising Overview
HERC’s 2014-2015 advertising strategy has been aimed at increasing national exposure through diverse partnerships, attracting more jobseekers to create user accounts. HERC has also worked to increase HERC’s social media ad campaigns.
The total value of national exposure in FY2015 to date has been $71,500.

This year, HERCjobs.org was recognized as a User’s Choice Awards Winner for providing best user experience. This is the only award where users pick the winners. With over 200,000 employment sites on the internet, this is a great accomplishment.

The hercjobs.org website has seen an 39.5% increase in visits since we launched our new site in 2013. We get over 265,000 visits per month.
Central HERC has an active technology committee consisting of representatives from institutions in the regional HERCs. Our ongoing mission is to continually review and improve the HERC jobseeker experience.

Cost of Membership
• The average annual cost of HERC membership is $3,000 per institution.• Most regions have a tiered dues structure and smaller campuses pay less
and larger campuses pay more. South-Central-Gulf Texas HERC bases member dues on IPEDS count of benefits-eligible employees.
• In our structure, dues fall between $1,500 - $5,000. • National HERC is a non-profit. Regional dues cover operating costs.• Individual institution dues are set by the HERC region. • Dues can be split between HR and Faculty Affairs.• The average number of member institutions in a regional HERC is 34.

As part of a national HERC dues restructuring, South Central Gulf Texas HERC stands to save as much as $7,000 in FY2016, resulting in significant savings that we will put toward jobseeker outreach, career fairs and advertising.
