Comcast’s The Secret Life of Pets was one of the year’s biggest breakout hits, grossing more than $875 million worldwide and adding to a run of successful projects from the company’s Universal Pictures division.

Disney’s live-action Jungle Book did roughly $967 million at movie theaters in 2016. With that kind of performance, it’s no surprise that the company is working on a sequel.

Zootopia released March 30 and went on to gross roughly $1.02 billion in global ticket sales, making it the third-highest-grossing new film property ever and 2016’s third-highest-grossing film.

Finding Dory delivered the year’s best domestic gross with roughly $486 million in ticket sales. By the end of 2016, the picture had taken in roughly $1.03 billion worldwide – another huge hit for Pixar.

The 14 films in the MCU have done nearly $11 billion in combined ticket sales, and new entries in the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and Spider-Man series are on deck for 2017.
