The 14 th ISA, 1994, Edmonton, AB By “Shuffleboard Bob” Bob speaks: I was fortunate again to be part of this event in Edmonton, AB 1994, held at the Mayfield Inn. This event was indeed historical – it was the 1 st time the Roll Out Courts were ever used at an ISA Tournament. The 5 pix to follow provide a brief narrative of this great event!! In the pic to the left is Canadian Sandy Myers, inventor of the Roll Out Court. To this day, 2012, the Roll Outs of that period are used in several locations throughout Canada. After use, the courts are literally rolled around these cardboard cylinders and stored until needed. Photo 2 is Bud Walrath, ISA President, and Sandy, prepared to roll out that very first court! History in the making! Also shown in the pic is Kosai, white sweater, and Vince Crawford, extreme right, also in white. Vince Crawford was a prime mover in the establishment of the ISA Hall of Fame in Clearwater, FL. To the left we have Kosai smoothing the court while Sandy and Mike Walker of Dura Dress, far right, look on. “Shuffleboard Bob” distinctly remembers the anxiety in the room with regard to just how well the Roll Out Courts would function!!

“Shuffleboard Bob” distinctly remembers the

anxiety in the room with regard to just how well the Roll Out Courts would function!!

1994 he was running ahead of the crowd >> in that he had adopted the “Clean Look”!!) (Hair Cut lol)

In the photo below we have the actual event in progress in the Convention Hall of the Mayfield. It was great because the entire event plus rooms and food, were all at the same venue. To put it simply, the Roll Outs were a RESOUNDING SUCCESS!!

Submitted by “Shuffleboard Bob”! 2012 05 26.

Assembled by Stan McCormack. Australia, Canada, Japan, USA & Zimbabwe are shown on the cover of the 1994 BOOKLET. (Edmonton.)
