Fall is here and winter is just around the corner, which means this year is coming to a close! We have had several suc- cessful events this year, including our Golf Tournament, Shrimp Feast, and the Camp David Chapter Picnic. We also recognized WHCA’s top performers at the Agency’s Annual Award Ceremony and provided scholarships to several college-bound students. Special thanks to the event chairpersons and volun- teers who devoted their time and their selfless service to make each event memorable. The Camp David Chapter held its 23rd Annual Picnic on September 7, 2013 at The Suker’s home in Cascade, MD. Thank you Warren and Carol for con- tinuing to host this annual event! See page 6 for event recap and photos. Additional photos are available via the 1600 Communications Association website under the” Photos tab”. Members have also posted some of their personal photos from the picnic on the group page on Facebook. On November 1 and 5 respectively, several Association board members at- tended the WHCA Change of Responsibility and Change of Command cere- monies to bid fond farewells to Command Sergeant Major Willie C. Clemmons and Colonel Clinton R. Bigger, and to welcome Command Sergeant Major Nathaniel J. Jett and Colonel Donovan L. Routsis. It was a pleasure to visit WHCA and observe the true professionalism of the Agency members, who executed both ceremonies flawlessly. These well-planned events exempli- fied the meaning of “Presidential quality.” This newsletter includes details for both events. This is an election year for the new Board of Directors. Election ballots are being sent out via email and this mailing. I encourage you to make your selection(s) and return the completed ballot as instructed. If you are inter- ested in serving and would like to be considered for any of the available posi- tions, please contact me no later than November 22, 2013 to ensure timely placement on the ballot. Also, I’d like to extend a special thanks to our Alumni Transition Coordinator, Darrell Williams. Darrell assisted many WHCA Alumni with their resumes and search for employment after their military service. Our 45th Annual Holiday Dinner Dance will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Spates Community Club, Fort Myer, VA. The official invitation (with meal options) is included within this newsletter and has been sent to the members via e-mail. Please “save the date” by marking your calendars now! Larry Feast is our Event Chair for our Holiday Dinner Dance. RSVPs and meal selections are due no later than December 2, 2013. We look forward to seeing you on December 7th - cocktails and socializing will begin at 6:30pm!
