for 3rd year in a row at 3.833.• All-State Academic 3A-4A Team: Jamie

Brooks (100m), Pat Conrick (HJ & TJ), Billy English (100m), Erin Kendig (400m), Maile Marshall (HJ), Morgan Jackson (100H)

• Second year of T&F Prom Queen

• Maile – Kingco High Jump Champion (Second Female League Champion)

• Boys 8th (4 Individuals & 1 Relay placed)

• Girls 7th (9 Individuals & 3 Relays placed)

• Girls 9th (6 Individuals & 1 Relay placed)

Star Track 2002

• 2 Boys, 4 Girls and 1 Girls Relay Events.• Kelly placed 6th at 1600m (Second time placing)• Kelly (1600m and 4x4), Jamie (4x4), Erin (4x4)

for third time.• Erin (400m) and Maile (High J.) for second time. • Morgan, Pat, Chloe and Kim compete for the first

time as individuals.

Kelsi Coltom - Freshman

• Earned her first Varsity letter.

• Tied 4th all-time in the high jump.

• 8th all time in the triple jump.

• Also competed in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and long jump.

• Next year – Needs to try even more events.

Kim Drew - Freshman

• Earned her first Varsity letter.• Member of State 4x4 team.• Placed in Kingco’s in both hurdles.• 3rd all-time in 100m Hurdles. 4th all-time in 300m

Hurdles. 6th all-time in triple jump.• 15th on CHS Power list.• Also competed in the long jump.• Next year – State Meet - Pasco

Matt Hunt - Freshman

• Earned his JV award.

• Threw the shot put and the discus.

• Next year – Keep on improving to 35’ and 95’

Kim Hunter - Freshman

• Earned her JV award.

• 2nd all-time with the new javelin.

• Freshman record in the new javelin.

• Next year – Qualify for Kingco’s in the javelin.

Diane McKenney - Freshman

• Earned her first Varsity award.

• 4th all time at 3200m. 6th all time at 1600m. 8th all time in the 800m. 5th all time in the High Jump

• 20th on CHS Power list.

• Next year – qualify for Kingco in 3 events.

John Meylor - Freshman

• Earned his JV award.

• Ran the 800m and the 1600m.

• Next year – Top 10 list at 800m.

Kyle Muggli - Freshman

• Earned his JV award.

• 4th all time with the new javelin.

• Freshman record with the new javelin.

• Next year – qualify for Kingco in javelin.

Brittany Richardson - Freshman

• Earned her first Varsity letter.

• 5th all time in the long jump.

• Also ran the 100m, 200m and relays.

• Next year – League placer in the long jump.

Ibrahim Sial - Freshman

• Earned his JV award.

• Ran the 1600m.

• Next year – No more pacing Newport girls to good times.

Chloe Christman - Sophomore

• Earned her second Varsity letter.

• Member of State 4x4 team.

• 5th all-time in the 200m.

Tied 6th all-time in the 100m.

7th all-time in the 400m.

• 20th on CHS Power list.

• Next year – State Meet - Pasco

Joe Gutschmidt - Sophomore

• Earned his JV award.

• 3rd all-time with the new javelin.

• Next year – Try some hurdling.

Brooke Hellman - Sophomore

• Earned her JV award.

• 6th all-time in the 3200m.

8th all-time in the 1600m.

• Next year – Move up the top 10 lists.

Matt Kersten - Sophomore

• Earned his JV award.

• Ran the 1600m and 3200m.

• Next year – Stay healthy and have a full season.

Junwen Law - Sophomore

• Earned his first Varsity letter.

• 10th all-time in the 1600m.

• Also competed in the 400m, 800m and 3200m.

• Next year – Qualify for Kingco’s. Move up top 10 lists.

Colin McDonell - Sophomore

• Earned his second Varsity letter.• 5th all-time in the 800m.

Tied 9th in the 400m. • Sophomore record at 800m.• Also competed in 200m and 1600m. • Next year – School record in 4x4. District

qualifier at 800m. Exit the pre-pubescent stage.

Evan Sebenius - Sophomore

• Earned his JV award.

• 2nd all-time with the new javelin.

• Sophomore record with the new javelin.

• Next year – qualify for Kingco in javelin.

Stu Swenson - Sophomore

• Earned his JV award.

• Threw the shot put and discus.

• Next year – Keep improving to 38’ and 105’.

Maika Takanohara - Sophomore

• Earned her JV award.

• 5th all-time with the new javelin.

• Sophomore record with the new javelin.

• Also threw the discus.

• Next year – 80’ in both events.

Matt Warner - Sophomore

• Earned his second Varsity letter.

• 6th in the 400m.

Tied 6th in the 200m.

Tied 7th all-time in the 100m.

• Frosh record in the 100m and 200m.

• Next year – School record in 4x4. Qualify for districts in two events.

Class of 2003

One more year and they think that they will be free!!!

Stefanie Abell - Junior

• Earned her JV award.

• 9th all-time in the 1600m.

9th all-time in the 3200m.

• Next year – No more chiropractor visits. Move up the top 10 lists.

Stevie Boyd - Junior

• Earned her JV award.

• 8th all-time with the new javelin.

3rd in the pole vault.

• Next year – Stay healthy. Move up the new javelin top 10 list.

Pat Conrick - Junior

• Earned his third Varsity letter.• State qualifier in high and triple jump.• 2nd all-time in high jump.

5th all-time in the triple jump. 6th all-time in the 300m Hurdles. 9th all-time in the long jump.

• Frosh and soph records in the high jump.• Next year – School record in 4x4. State placer in

two events.

Jenine Drew - Junior

• Earned her first Varsity letter.

• 9th all-time in 400m and 800m.

• Also competed in the 200m, discus and shot put.

• Next year – Have Marc pick less bizarre events.

Billy English - Junior

• Earned his third Varsity letter.

• District qualifier at 100m and 200m.

• 2nd all-time in the 200m. Tied 3rd all-time in the 100m.

• Still soph records in the 100m and 200m.

• Next Year – School record in 4x4. State qualifier in three events.

Blake Hellman - Junior

• Earned his first Varsity letter.

• 9th all-time in the 3200m.

• Also ran the 800m and 1600m.

• Next year – Kingco qualifier. Move up top 10 lists.

Karley Korshaven - Junior

• Earned her JV award.

• Threw the shot put and discus.

• Next year – Keep on making new personal records.

Brian Lee - Junior

• Earned his first Varsity letter.

• 7th all time in the 1600m.

8th all time in the 3200m.

• Also ran the 800m.

• Next year – Kingco qualifier. Move up top 10 lists.

Devin Looijen - Junior

• Earned his JV award.

• 9th all time at 800m.

• Next year – Stay healthy. Move up 800m list.

Vong Ly - Junior

• Earned his JV award.

• Threw the shot put and the discus.

• Next year – 35’ and 90’.

Kelly Ramirez – Junior

• Earned her third Varsity letter.• School records at 1600m and 3200m.• 2nd all-time at 800m. • 6th all-time at 400m.• 7th on CHS Power list. • Holds frosh, soph and junior records at 800m,

1600m and 3200m. • Next year – 8 of 8. Make the podium for 3rd time

at 1600m. State 4x4 qualifier for 4th time.

Jamie Brooks - Senior

• Earned her fourth Varsity letter.

• District finalist at 100m.

• 3 time – State participant in 4x4.

• School record in 100m and all 3 relays.

• 3rd all-time at 200m.

• 3rd all-time at 400m.

• 5th on CHS Power list.

Erica Burch - Senior

• Earned her second Varsity letter.

• League qualifier in the javelin.

• School record with the new javelin.

• 5th all-time with the old javelin.

• 8th all-time in the 3200m.

Morgan Jackson - Senior

• Earned her fourth Varsity letter.• State qualifier at 100m Hurdles. • District finalist at 300m Hurdles.• Member of State 4x4 team.• School and senior class record at 100m H. • 2nd all-time at 300m H. • 7th all-time at 200m. • 10th all-time at Triple Jump. • 12th on CHS Power list.

Erin Kendig - Senior• Earned her fourth Varsity letter.• 3 Time Member of State 4x4 team. • Two time State qualifier at 400m.

Placed 5th as junior.• School records at 200m, 400m, 4 x 2 and 4 x 4.• 2nd all-time at 100m. • 3rd all-time at 800m.• All four class records at 400m. • Junior and senior records at 200m.• 3rd on CHS Power list.

Maile Marshall - Senior• Earned her fourth Varsity letter.• Two time state qualifier in the high jump. • Kingco Champion• School record in high jump.• 2nd all-time in triple jump. • 2nd all-time in the pole vault. • 3rd all-time in long jump. • 3rd all-time with the new javelin.• Holds all four class records at high jump. Senior,

junior and soph records at long jump. Junior and frosh records in triple jump. Frosh record in vault.

Sara Sage - Senior

• Earned her third Varsity letter.

• Kingco qualifier in discus.

• 5th all-time in the discus.

• 9th all-time in the shot put.

Rachel Salz - Senior

• Earned her second Varsity letter.

• League qualifier in the discus.

• 6th all-time in the discus.

• 8th all-time in the shot put.

• 4th all-time with the new javelin.

• 20th on CHS Power list.

Lauren Trocano - Senior

• Earned her fourth Varsity letter.

• Kingco qualifier in shot put and discus.

• 2nd all-time in the discus.

• 3rd all-time in shot put.

Ian Wright - Senior

• Earned his second Varsity letter.

• 6th all-time in the 3200m.

1. The many “lasts” – Last practice at Woodinville, Last “home” meet not at home, because Cedarcrest Stadium is coming!!!!

Items to build upon for the 2003 season

• New track. Not much else matters.• Need to attract more athletes to fill more events.

Too many gaps.• Need more parent helpers. No repeat of this

year. • Girls – Replace the seniors. Build for the future.• Boys – 78% of dual meet points return. Two year

window.• State berths for Kelly, Pat, Girls 4x4 and ??
