spading business, is located in tourist-attracting Madison County. This is a county known

internationally for its covered bridges and the movie starring Clint Eastwood. It is also the

boyhood home of the late John Wayne.

The 2021 annual summer meeting returns to a more normal format after the disruptions of

Covid in 2020. Friday evening begins with registration opening at 5:30 and at 6:30 a catered

meal including pulled pork sandwiches. The rest of the evening is devoted to catching up with

long-time friends and getting to know new members. You can also visit with representatives of

Santa's Wholesale Supply, Northwoods Evergreen & Wire, and Upright Tree Stands.

Saturday morning opens with registration at 8 am along with coffee, juice, rolls and donuts.

At noon you will enjoy a catered lunch including grilled chicken breast with Boursin cream

sauce. See complete details about the meals and cost on the registration form.

The program begins at 9 am and will include the usual format of introductions, business

reports, and updates for growers from guest authorities. The day includes a generous time for

breaks and visiting with our vendors. A tour of the fields led by Chris Howell will include a

shearing demonstration. Jenny Howell will lead a session on making wreaths and other

greenery creations. In addition, bring anything you would like to sell or give away to ari area

set aside for a "swap meet."

After the meeting, you are encouraged to visit the nearby Howell's Green House and Pumpkin

Patch operated by Chris's brother Fred, and his wife Cindy and family. Their business

seasonally includes more than 5 acres of flowers for dried arrangements, a pumpkin patch,

corn maze, retail garden center, and gift shop. Learn more on the web at
