5. Gold Delta Skymiles Credit Card

If you’re a die-hard loyal Delta flyer, the Gold card from American Express may be the card for you.

The card gives you: • 30,000 bonus miles after $1,000 in spending in

your first three months • No annual fee for the first year • One free checked bag per flight • Priority boarding (which is pretty sweet)

The deal, however, sours a bit after that. The point system is a little weaker than competitors with just one mile per dollar spent. There’s a $95 annual fee after the first year and the APR of 15.24% to 19.24% is higher than competitors.

4. BankAmericard Travel Rewards Card

The BankAmericard by Bank of America and Visa is a small, but considerable, step up from the Gold Delta card.

The card’s 1.5 points per dollar spent and no annual fee is an upgrade from my number five pick. However, the sign-up bonus isn’t quite as lucrative and the 14.99% to 22.99% APR is still a bit high.

The greater flexibility in the point system is ultimately what gave Bank of America’s card the nod and the number four slot.

3. Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card

JPMorgan Chase’s card has, perhaps, the best bonus offer with 40,000 points once you spend $3,000 in the first three months and there’s no annual fee in the first year.

The card also has fantastic rewards perks: Direct access to an advisor, 7% points dividend, and one-to-one transfer value of points to a loyalty program. That makes it, if used strategically, the most rewarding point systems available.

However, the point systems itself is just too complicated for my taste. With that said, if you’re looking for the most rewarding card, and aren’t afraid of a little strategic planning, look no further. Source Reagan Rothenberger

2. Capital One Venture Rewards

It just wouldn’t be a credit-card rewards count down without Capital One. And it’s also yet another big winner for Visa.

The sign up bonus of 10,000 miles isn’t particularly generous, but the annual fee of $59 and the 13.9% to 20.9% APR are both on the lower end of the spectrum.

It’s the point system, though, that bumps Capital One to such a high ranking. You get two miles per dollar spent anytime anywhere and it’s simple, flexible… and perfect for just about anyone.

1. Barclays Arrival World

Barclays and MasterCard team up to dunk this one home with authority! Not only does the Barclays Arrival World credit card match Capital One’s two miles per dollar spent, but it also give 10% miles back at years end, while having one of the best sign up bonuses: 40,000 miles (if you spend $1,000 in first 90 days). There’s also no annual fee for the first year.

The 14.99% to 18.99% APR is about average. And after the first year the $89 annual fee you’ll have to pay is up there, but overall, this card is simple, flexible, and provides top-of-the-line rewards, making Barclays Arrival World the hands-down favorite. Source: Keith Evans
