HAPPENINGS AT ABOUNDING JOY

BIBLICAL ARCHAEOLOGY VIDEO COURSE Today, June 3, 1:00 pm

BIBLICAL ARCHAEOLOGY VIDEO COURSE Thursday, June 10, 1:00 pm

ROOM NAMES for the rooms ’down the hall’

from the fellowship area were recently chosen. Below is a brief explanation of why they were selected.

Comfort and Joy (at the end of the hall) It is a comfortable place where grieving families and/or troubled people meet and talk with Pastor Tom or others for help and comfort; and, there is joy in the group Bible studies and other so-cial-type gatherings making a personal connec-tion with our Lord and Savior and recognizing the blessings and joy we have in knowing our Lord.

Hope (Sunday School/quilting room, right-hand side) This is the room where our youngest Sun-day school children (our hope for a future) learn about Jesus, our eternal hope; and the quilting done here brings hope to those in need.

Peace (the connected room, left-hand side) The classroom for the older Sunday school children who are coming to peace with their Sunday school experience. The Joyful Stitchers have peace as they put together quilts for those in need and pray that they will bring peace to the recipients.

Journey (room left of Comfort and Joy) This is the room where journeys begin: brides getting ready for their journey into marriage, family gathering at the beginning of their journey without a loved one whose funeral/memorial service is being held, confirmation classes for the youth beginning their journey into Chris-tian adulthood, adult classes where older folks journey deeper into the Bible, to list a few.

These names are above each door. Let’s start us-ing them and become familiar with which is which when we have meetings/gatherings.

ANNOUNCEMENTS for the Herald are due by

Wednesday noon for publishing in the Herald the next day (Thursday). Thank you.

SHARING THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS

THIS WEEK’S TIP: Since faith comes through the hearing of God’s Word, it’s good for all of us to be ready to point others to passages from the Bible that clearly announce the Good News of Jesus. Some examples are: John 3:1-17; Psalm 23; II Peter 3:9; Isaiah 43:1; John 10:10; Luke 18:9-14; Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 8:1-2; and Reve-lation 21:1-4.

FAITH MATTERS: Q: Should I wear my “Sunday best” to worship services at church, or should I just “come as I am”?

A

Pastor Tom
