Kim’s Kolleagues Greetings

Monthly Tip: Health Fairs

First of all, I want to “THANK” my team for all of their hard work and devotion to this wonderful business we are in. I have truly enjoyed working with everyone, and getting to know each of you on a personal level.

Congratulations to Donna Lea W. She is the team name contest WINNER. Thank you to those of

you who submitted your ideas. We are now “Kim’s Kolleagues”!

I also want to congratulate the TOP 4 in personal script count increase for May. They are:

# 1 Kim B. # 3 Max H. # 2 Pat W. # 4 Mary Jo A.

We had a good turn out on April 19th at our Mobile “working lunch”. We shared ideas, brainstormed and of course had some good food.

Last but not least, a big “THANK YOU” to EVERYONE in the NBBI home offi ce for all of their hard work, and for making all of this possible.

And remember: There are no offi ce hours for CHAMPIONS!!

Greetings to you all. I am extremely honored and grateful to have been given this platform and opportunity to share with you what I have learned and am still learning about the wonderfully powerful creative ability latent within us all. It is my hope that in time, if you have not done so already, you will come to understand as I have,

that because of this ability you can do what you want to do, be what you want to be and have what you want to have.

I cannot take credit for any of the ideas I will be sharing with you. I have learned them myself by reading the works of authors like Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Russell Conwell and Rhonda Byrne some or all of whom you may have never heard. However their works are based upon the teachings of another author with whom I am sure you are familiar, if by name only. The works of the aforementioned authors are in complete harmony and agreement with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Let me say here at the outset that I am a Christian. I believe in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. But I want to make it perfectly clear that I am in no way whatsoever attempting to change or infl uence the religious beliefs of anyone. Your religious beliefs are your business. However, there are some basic truths that are common within all of the major religious and philosophical disciplines, the understanding and application of which will give you the ability to do, be or have whatever you want; so long as you do not violate universal laws or the rights of any other human being. It is those truths and their proper application that I wish to share with you.

Because of space constraints I will not at this time be able to go into any details concerning these ideas. More in-depth discussions have been relegated to future newsletters, and I am looking forward to having those discussions with you.

In closing this, my fi rst article, I would like to leave you with a quote from Wallace Wattles. Consider it food for thought; something to think about until the next article.

“There is an original thinking substance from which and by which all things are made and which in its original state permeates, penetrates and fi lls the interspaces of the universe. A thought held in this original substance produces the thing that is imaged in the thought. People can form things in their thoughts, and by impressing their thoughts upon original substance, can cause the thing they think about to be created”.

Until next time

As communities look for relief of rising health care costs, we are seeing more and more Health Fairs.

Health Fairs are designed to reach the public and let them know where and how to get help. While medical costs continue to rise, families struggle to remain healthy and take medication

as directed. We know hospitals are overwhelmed with the cost of treating the uninsured and under insured. The Community Assistance Program provides a valuable resource in helping our communities afford their medications. Taking medication as directed is proven to cut down on emergency room visits and hospital stays, making what we do so important for our community.

Health Fairs bring you a unique opportunity to meet health care professionals that need your service. In building your business these contacts are crucial and always lead to more opportunities to promote your business in the environment needed. Health Fairs also serve the public and your services can go directly into the hands of those searching for help!

There are several ways to fi nd these Health Fairs in your community. Local hospitals are always advertising these events in the newspaper and in the hospitals. American Town will have these events listed as well. You will fi nd adding these events into your business plan both rewarding and prosperous! Oh, and they are fun too!

We provide an excellent resource to our community! Get involved!

Reach and Teach!

Much Success!

Frank’s Tips and Trends

How To Target Hospitals For Card DistributionWhat better place to target for card distribution than a busy hospital. But how do you do this in a way that ensures that your cards get to the right departments? Every hospital has a standard list of departments that deal with patient care and community outreach. These include Emergency Medicine, Behavioral Health, HIV

Services, Diabetes Management, Community Services, Charity Care, Clinical Services, Outpatient Care by speciality, Addiction Management and Case Management/Social Work, Support Groups. The names may change from hospital to hospital, but the functions are the same.

Go to the information desk and sign in. Make sure that you wear your badge and that it is visible. Ask to be directed to one of these departments and get to work. Sometimes they’ll ask you if you have an appointment with an individual in the department you’ve requested. If they will not grant you access without an appointment, go to the bank of in-house telephones and ask for the social service department. Explain the program briefl y and ask if it would be ok to leave a packet of information and a few cards with them. They almost always say yes. And, they can direct you to other departments within the hospital. You may have easier access to many departments within a small hospital setting, although it is always better to get a hospital pass fi rst.

And don’t forget that there are a large number of attending physicians offi ces located within a one-mile radius of the hospital. More opportunities for distribution.

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Mary. I work for NBBI as Michael Attardo’s Administrative assistant. I’m in charge of sending out your initial batch of cards as well as display stands and welcome packages. More recently, I have become the contact person for our new awards program and have begun placing your card orders too. However, the most exciting

part of my job is calling new reps to welcome them to our team and listening to you tell me about how wonderful you think our program is.

I want to share a quick story about a conversation I had with a new rep. At this point she had only been signed up with the program for 2 days, but had already become extremely knowledgeable about how things work and even listened to Linda’s National Conference call. I was happy to hear that she has gotten herself this involved in such a short amount of time. As our conversation went on she said to me “when I went on my sponsor’s site the application said there was a one-time charge of $79.95 to sign up for the year, but after I fi lled out all the paperwork and processed my application, I saw I was only charged $49.95 and I’m not sure what I did wrong!” I said to her, “may I ask your age?” She says 73 and I said well you qualifi ed for our senior discount! She was amazed that we offer a senior discount, for those new reps who are over 62 years of age, and tells me that the more she is reading about our company; the better she fi nds it to be.

I believe this to be true myself. I see fi rst-hand the effort and teamwork everyone here at NBBI does to develop a program that not only helps the community, but helps you, the rep, have the support and training you need to make your business as successful as you want it to be. On top of that, Michael is constantly working hard to fi nd ways to save you money where he can, including a better priced clothing line and is currently working on a new printing company for our cards and display stands that will save you money on shipping costs. He has also developed our discount card in 19 different languages available upon request. We encourage you to get as involved as possible – we have so much to offer to you, but also welcome your suggestions, so please don’t hesitate to initiate an idea – some of our best ideas come from the fi eld and one of our goals is to make our relationship as successful as it can be.

By Mary Rega

I am constantly hearing about all your fun and success out in the fi eld and wanted to experience fi rst-hand what it is like to be out there, not only to assist the community, but I knew getting myself involved in fi eld training would also benefi t you who call in and need assistance from me. When I became an employee of NBBI, I instantly became a rep as well. I had my own set of cards, but never went out and actually visited clinics and other healthcare providers to begin the distribution process. When I was assigned a Program Advisor a few weeks ago and I received an email from Paul Dantes, my PA, regarding his fi rst conference call I knew I needed to make myself available to listen to his training call on Placement Plan. The call was completely organized and informative and, even as an employee of NBBI, there was much to be learned. After the call I became really excited to attend his upcoming fi eld blitz; it was a perfect opportunity to get involved and I felt honored to learn from someone with his type of experience. I became familiar with Paul’s email attachment on guidelines and tactics and needless to say, the fi eld blitz went great! Paul loosened me up and built my confi dence in a fun, yet professional manner. Altogether we visited over 50 doctor’s offi ces and distributed about 1500 cards. In just a few short hours, I learned more from Paul then I could’ve learned on my own. He gave me inside advice on how to approach and successfully pass on the information needed to get my point across in the short minute we had with these doctors or receptionists. I learned something new with every offi ce we visited and Paul also taught me the importance of follow up calls and tips on ways to keep my contacts in order.

I want to encourage you to get yourself involved in as much as possible. There is so much to learn and we have so much to offer. I wish you all the greatest of success as you proceed in your card distribution and am looking forward to working with you.

After my talk about Placement Plan Guidelines last June 15th, some of my New Jersey team members agreed to work with me in the fi eld and put the guidelines into action. Thus, last June 27th (Monday), we went out together armed with our CAP Shirts, CAP cards, CAP materials and visited several clinics.

Besides visiting a total of 55 clinics in 3 hours and distributing around 1,500 CAP cards, the most exciting part was the camaraderie built amongst each other. We had great fun. I was working with Ms. Mary Rega and every time we entered a clinic, we had fun while achieving our objectives. This is the reason why I decided to use our intro spiel as the title of this article. It was our ice-breaker to tear down the wall between us and the gate-keepers. In doing so, we were able to successfully pass our message, check for understanding and left the clinic with a new friend and ally to champion CAP to each potential patient (more importantly, their bosses – the doctors).

As I shared with many, the BASICs of this business is BEING IN FRONT OF PEOPLE. There is no substitute for it. After understanding and even becoming an expert on the Basics, we are more confi dent to create other marketing approaches and programs suited to our own preferences - especially those who have limited capability to go out in the fi eld.

I encourage everyone to review your Placement Plan Guidelines and take time to go out and work with the great women and men of NBBI in the fi eld (even for a couple of hours and I guarantee that you would further fi nd that our endeavor is more rewarding than we ever thought).

Email me your feedback and thoughts at [email protected].

Hi! I’m Mary and I’m Paul ... we are looking for Peter?

Inspiration To Go

Hello everyone I am Linda Grinthal’s new assistant, Diane Burgos. I feel blessed to be a part of this great NBBI team and look forward to serving you. My extension, for your convenience, is 119. Have a God day!

Dare to be Great…

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson

Padgug’s Pride

Though many tips have been given on how and how not to be successful here at NBBI, I believe the effectiveness of this training is based on how much pride you have in yourself, and the cause you represent. I have noticed that when my self-image is down due to poor choices I have made, I am not nearly as profi cient at any activity I may

undertake, than when I feel good about myself and the direction I am taking. If you can identify with this, let me respectfully suggest that if there are aspects of your life that need repair, address them fi rst and foremost, then watch positive results “magically come into your life”. Remember, on your long journey that we call life, you may fi ll your bucket with much needed refreshing water, but if you have a hole in it, it won’t last very long. Mend the holes in your bucket, and go out there and help others help themselves do the same.

Want to contribute to The Advisor? What better way to inspire others than by sharing your stories and experiences. If you have such an inspiration to share, please send it to Diane at [email protected] and we will include them in future issues of The Advisor. Submissions deadline for the next issue is July 25, 2011.
