The AIAA Mid-Atlantic Section Announces Its 2011 Pre-College “Outstanding Aerospace Exhibit” Award Winners The Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is please to announce the winners of the 2011 AIAA Mid-Atlantic Section Outstanding Aerospace Exhibit Award. The Outstanding Aerospace Exhibit Award recognizes student excellence and enthusiasm in science fair projects of interest to the field of aerospace. This year the AIAA is privileged to recognize students participating in both the Howard County and the Baltimore City Science Fairs. A complete list of the 2011 AIAA Mid-Atlantic Section “Outstanding Aerospace Exhibit” Award winners is provide below. (Thanks to the Baltimore Science Fair and Donald Bufano for use of the images) As part of the AIAA award, the students are invited to present their research at the 2011 Region 1 AIAA Young Professional, Student, and Educator Conference (YPSE-11). The YPSE is held each fall on the campus of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD. The conference brings together students and early career professionals from across the northeast in a professional conference setting to share their research and excitement about aerospace. More information on YPSE-11 can be found at: https://info.aiaa.org/Regions/NE/MidAtlantic/Web%20Pages/YPSE-11.aspx The AIAA Mid-Atlantic Section is made up of AIAA members in Maryland and parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. In addition to the Outstanding Aerospace Exhibit Award and the YPSE, we offer a wide range of support for K-12 educators and students including; support for classroom projects, classroom speakers, teacher workshops, and student mentoring.
