Message from the ChairmanWelcome everyone to an exciting new year of the Pacific NorthwestASNT Section. First off, I would like to say thank you to all theBoard Members that gave me the opportunity to be Chairman of thissection. I also want to extend a special thank you to last yearsChairman – Bob Swisher for all the preparations that allowed me asmooth transition into the new year.
As members of this society, we have a big challenge ahead of us.In these times of incredibly busy schedules and long hours on thejob, we need to continue to support the local section. This supportincludes providing training courses to potential new NDT personnel, attendance and support to the sections monthly meetings and in-creasing ASNT membership. The section is scheduling a“Radiographic Film Interpretation” course in the spring of 2008. Wewill be having some very interesting speakers at our local monthlymeetings this coming year. Please keep our website - http://www.asntpnws.org in your favorites to keep an eye on who thesespeakers will be.
Our jobs provide many challenging opportunities. Sometimes bothphysical and technical. Many times, they may even include travel toremote locations. As we work our way through these challenges, keep your eyes open for people looking to tackle these challengeswith us. Be aware to either include and possible mentor these newNDT folks into our community.
Thank you,
Matt Mead
Pacific Northwest ASNT Chairman
