LISA’S NEW FAVORITE GADGET: Guys love electronics like cell phones, stereos, computers and more. It is hard for me to understand how Lisa’s favorite things always seem to be kitchen related. And I (Rob) have decided to make this a special section in our Bootcamper newsletter! Right now, Lisa’s new favorite gadget is the Misto Olive Oil Sprayer priced at $9.99. She uses it everyday. Olive oil is very good for you & even better when you control how much you use. You can find it at most stores including Giant Eagle. Here’s a review found on Amazon about the Misto sprayer:

For spreading olive oil evenly on bruschetta, focaccia, and grilled or roasted vegetables, and for spraying muffin and cake pans with vegetable oil, this dispenser is a nifty tool. A plastic cap underneath the sprayer's top twists off so the sprayer can be half-filled (1/3 cup) with oil. Inside the top is a plastic tube that fits over the spray nozzle. Push the top up and down to pump air pressure into the canister. Then spray for 10 seconds and pump up again. It's simple, ingenious, and practical. With its cap on, the sprayer stands

just 7-5/8 inches high, so it tucks away easily on any countertop. Made of satin-finish aluminum with a black-band accent, it's sleek as well as utilitarian. Oh and if you missed our February 2012 newsletter, Lisa’s favorite item was PB2 Peanut Butter, especially when used in her nutritional shakes by Visalus. PB2 tastes just like peanut butter with no preservatives & 85% less fat calories! PB2 is kind of hard to find, so we became distributors and you can pick up a jar or two at the front desk. It is available in regular or chocolate. WARRIOR DASH: Fit Body Bootcamp Team member Cory Colosimo is rounding up a team for June’s Warrior Dash. The Warrior Dash is a 3.5 run/walk with 12 different obstacles. We are signed up for Sunday, June 3rd at 1pm. You can register online at WarriorDash.com. Make sure you select the same day and time. We can car pool and suffer have fun together!

All kidding aside, we really do think it’s a good idea to participate in different events like this one throughout the year. The reason why is because it gives you something to work towards and pulls you out of your normal routine. As we are writing this newsletter, many of our Bootcampers are training for the Tough Mudder on April 14th and 15th. We can guarantee that these Bootcampers are training very hard right now to prepare for the event. Many are doing “mini” Tough Mudders on the weekends. They are nursing blisters, sore on a daily basis, tired and loving every minute of it. The reason why is because they are becoming different people in the process. You don’t finish the Warrior Dash or Tough Mudder the same person you were when you started it. If you’re interested in the Warrior Dash, you have to sign up ASAP. It sells out very quickly. There are only 550 spaces for each wave of the race. Last time we checked only 200 spots remained for June 3rd at 1pm. Hurry! SPECIAL MEMBER INTERVIEW (by Rob Minton): Back in February, I received this email from member, Jenn Wolenski: I am actually going to a wedding this evening. I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Fitbody because I will be wearing a dress this evening for the first time in 6 years! I have been so insecure with my weight over the past several years that I would not even think of wearing a dress, but with my recent weight loss of 22 lbs, I am feeling more confident about myself each day. Thanks again.....you guys are the BEST!!!! Jenn wouldn’t wear a dress because she was unhappy with how she looked and she was going to wear one for the first time in 6 years! Not only has Jenn lost fat and completely changed how she looks, but she has become a different person. Her confidence level has increased dramatically and she is now trying things she would never have done before! We were so impressed by Jenn’s transformation that we asked her if she would be open to an interview. The idea was to share her journey with other members because we felt it might be helpful. Thankfully she agreed and here it is:

Q: Can you share a little bit about you? A: I’m 37 years old and single. I have a 12-year old daughter who is in 7th grade. I work 40 hours a week at Red Robin in Willoughby. Q: Were you exercising before you found us? If so, how were you exercising? A: I was exercising consistently at home. I would follow exercise DVDs including the Biggest Loser and the Slim in 6 Series. These exercise routines were more cardio oriented. I didn’t use weights very much. Q: How long have you been trying to lose weight? A: 12 years. I put on 35lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter and haven’t been able to lose the weight since. In fact, I’ve tried everything over the years and complained to my doctor that I probably had a thyroid problem. My blood tests showed that his wasn’t the case. I couldn’t understand why the weight wouldn’t come off. Q: How did you hear about Willowick Fit Body Bootcamp? A: A friend saw your daily deal on Groupon and told me about it. We both bought Groupons for one month of classes. Your Groupon was the first Groupon I’ve every purchased. Q: Were you nervous about your first bootcamp class? Yes! The only reason I came to class was because my friend was coming too. I didn’t know if I could handle a bootcamp class, but thought if my friend can do it, so can I. I almost didn’t take the class. I got stuck in a traffic jam and got here 15 minutes late. I only took ½ of the first class. The trainer was Margaret and I thought I would give it another try. I started coming to 3 classes a week. In January you added additional evening bootcamp classes and I now come 5 days a week. So far I’ve only missed ONE scheduled class. I sign up for all of my classes at ScheduleClass.com and am determined to keep my “Reliability Rating” at 5 full stars for class attendance. Believe it or not, I find signing up for classes online to be a BIG part of committing to

change. If I’ve signed up for a class, I attend. In the past, I had gone to a few different gyms in our area, but was intimidated. I didn’t know anyone and never used the equipment so I never joined. I just wasn’t comfortable in the typical gym environment. When I came to bootcamp, I realized I was just like everyone else at bootcamp. I wasn’t intimidated because the people exercising were from all age groups. Nobody was judging me, laughing and I wasn’t embarrassed. We were all in the same boat struggling to finish the class. I have found that I actually work harder in the class environment. The trainers encourage me to work harder and this encouragement is so powerful. Margaret is always telling me to use heavier weights or to do a few more repetitions. I love the trainers. Q: How do you feel now compared to before you started bootcamp? Do you feel stronger? Do you have more energy? A: I am a thousand times stronger and have a lot more energy. Before bootcamp, I could feel my waist jiggling when I walked at work. Not any more! When I was overweight, I had a hard time shopping and rarely bought myself new clothes. In fact, buying jeans was the worst because I could never find any that I was happy with. I just bought a new dress and a pair of high heels! It’s been 6 years since I’ve bought or wore a dress. Q: Do you think you’re more confident now? A: I couldn’t do a situp in my first bootcamp class. Today situps are a breeze. It took me 4 months to do a push up without keeping my knees on the ground. Even better, I can do several of Justin’s “tuck jumps” in a row without stopping. I am a completely different person now. I’m even signed up for rock climbing in April! Q: Have you changed how you eat since starting with us? A: Before joining bootcamp, I thought I was eating healthy. I would think, “Just a little bit can’t be that bad…” while at work. A few French fries and ranch dressing isn’t that bad. Well it turns out, it was bad. Another mistake I used to make was thinking that it was okay to eat junk food if I

did my morning DVD exercise program. I felt justified in eating bad foods because I worked out. Turns out I was just sabotaging all of my exercise by making poor food choices. I started to compare what I was eating to what was included in your nutrition plan and realized that I wasn’t eating properly. I decided to “try” a few changes and began packing my lunch instead of eating at the restaurant. Now I’ll have apples as a snack instead of French fries. As soon as I changed how I ate, my weight dropped very quickly. Now I pay attention to everything I eat and have reduced my portion sizes significantly. I have more energy and feel a lot better. Q: What is your favorite healthy snack: A: Dole has these small single-size all natural frozen fruit cups. I absolutely love them. They have strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries. These are like dessert to me because they taste so good! Q: What mistakes have you made over the years regarding your weight? A: The biggest mistake was thinking I was actually eating healthy, when I wasn’t. I was actually lying to myself and didn’t realize it. The second mistake was not consistently weighing myself. I was afraid of the scale so I didn’t monitor my weight. Looking back I now realize that if I weighed myself more frequently I probably wouldn’t have gained so much weight. My third mistake was that I simply ate too much. My portion sizes were way too large. Q: What advice would you give someone reading this interview that wants to lose weight and get in shape? A: The best advice I could give is to really think about the foods you eat and the impact they’ll have on your body. Today I now realize that three cookies mean I have to take an extra bootcamp class. The cookies aren’t worth it. I won’t make that trade anymore. The bootcamp classes are hard and I’d rather skip the cookies! I would also tell them not to give up. Just keep coming to class. It DOES get easier.

Jenn thank you for sharing with us in this interview. You’ve opened up and shared things many people would be afraid to discuss. We thank you for your courage and your willingness to help other members! Please don’t read this interview and not learn from it. 1. Our health is our most important asset. (Far more important than money) If there is anything in life to be fanatical about, it’s most certainly our health.

2. Nutrition is the foundation of our health. 3. In eating for the body we want, not the body we have.

4. The quality of our exercise is more important than the quantity of our exercise. 5. In full body workouts combining strength training and cardio endurance.

6. Weights, dumbbells, TRX bands, and kettlebells are good. 7. What you actually do in the gym is far more important than the gym you go to.

8. In tracking, monitoring and measuring. This applies to our exercise and to the foods we eat.

9. That recovery is critically important for maximum effectiveness and improved health.

10. In doing our best – daily. 11. In constant experimentation in all areas of our lives.

12. Mistakes, setbacks and challenges help us learn, improve and grow. We also understand that mistakes, setbacks, and challenges are a normal part of the process.

13. In consistently facing our fears by challenging ourselves through events such as the Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder, and others.

14. We believe in constant and never ending improvement and life long learning.

15. Life is short and it’s important to laugh, play and have fun. In other words, we believe in living life well.

16. Happiness comes from helping other people accomplish their goals.
