Course Aims and ObjectivesCourse Aims - This course aims to impart delegates with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to diagnose and treat cases of Tooth Wear in General Dental Practice.

Course Objectives - By the end of this course delegates should:

• Have an understanding of the theoretical and practical considerations of Clinical Occlusion in relation to the treatment of the worn dentition.

• Be able to effectively assess, diagnose and treatment plan for a patient presenting with wear.

• Gain the ability to apply established principals to achieve aesthetic, functional and predictable outcomes.

• Develop familiarity with the various techniques and materials commonly in use to treat tooth wear, including conventional and adhesively retained restorations.

• Develop the skills and knowledge to treat worn localized teeth using direct free hand resin application.

• Understand and prescribe ‘canine riser’ restorations.

• Be confident with the use of a silicone key derived from a diagnostic wax up to apply resin composite, utilizing a resin layering technique.

• Apply the novel ‘injection molding technique’ to efficiently and predictably treat worn mandibular teeth.

• Develop confidence in the management of the posterior occlusion in tooth wear cases.
