HOSPITAL STAYS All those planning a hospital stay or scheduling a surgery are encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick beforehand. Please call the Parish Office or speak to Fr. McCaffery to schedule a convenient time during the week or after Mass. Also, please notify the parish if you or a family member is in the hospital. This is often the only way we know about a hospital stay and allows us to attend to the spiritual needs of our parishion-ers. Please continue to pray for those who are sick and hospitalized.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

WITH CONFESSIONS

Join us for Adoration and Confessions every Wednesday 6:00-7:00pm.

ST. REGIS STEWARDSHIP CORNER In today’s Gospel Jesus charges his followers to “make disciples of all nations.” What exactly is going on here? What is this Great Commission anyway? Good stewards know they are directed to share what they exercise stew-ardship over: their life of faith in Christ Jesus. They know Jesus didn’t direct them to go to church and to keep quiet about it; or to go out into the neighborhood, workplace or marketplace and just be nice to others. The Good News of Jesus Christ is meant to be shared. Many people in our communities either do not know about Jesus Christ, reject his Good News or have abandoned him. Does that bother us? Do we care? Do we realize we are supposed to do something about it?

PLEASE NOTE The Parish Office is now open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.

MEMORIAL DAY MASS Please plan to join us for a special Mass on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th, at 9:00am. This is a traditional time to remember those who have died in service to our country and to also lift up in prayer all our deceased loved ones. Please gather with us in prayer.

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION Month 8: Now I am just gaining weight and I am prob-ably starting to make my mother uncomfortable with my size. In a short time, I will be born. On be-half of mom and me, thank you for your pray-ers for the past eight months. They have giv-en her the grace she needed to make the right choices. “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” Cor. 15:56-58

Parking Lot & Playground Campaign November 2019 through December 2020

Although the campaign will run through Dec. 2020, we hope to have the funds to complete the work next summer. The first

phase of the project will be the parking lot, an approximately $100,000 renovation. With 141 spaces, that is about $730 a

space. The second phase includes updating the playground. We are anticipating phase two to be about $50,000.

Please contribute generously!

CLOSED MEMORIAL DAY The Parish Office and School Office will be closed Mon-day, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. Have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!

SCHOOL NEWS Vision By the Grace of God, St. Regis Academy seeks to be a locally recognized leader in graduating young men and women who are spiritually and academically prepared for a lifetime of discipleship.

Mission St. Regis Academy in partnership with parents, as the primary educators of their children, seeks to provide a Catholic Classical Liberal Arts Education centered on Christ. We seek to cultivate an environment that fosters a student’s natural desire for Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.

St. Regis Academy prepares students to think critically, reason logically, articulate clearly, and engage others per-suasively. Our enrollment includes racial, ethnic, and eco-nomic diversity within the Body of Christ, providing a wealth of opportunity for students to grow in virtue by pursuing spiritual, emotional, and academic excellence.

Help Outpace Poverty, with Catholic Charities during the month of May when we host a (Virtual) 5K Run/Walk that benefits our work in addressing poverty.  Many of the features you have enjoyed in the past will remain the same, only we will not necessarily all be in one place, at one time. Instead, we will ask our team members to par-ticipate individually or if together, maintaining at least the 6 ft. suggested social distance. The funds raised by this event have taken on heightened importance: at-risk fami-lies are struggling even more in these anxious and uncer-tain times. They may have lost wages or even their em-ployment due to restaurant, retail and venue closures. School closures may mean that their children have lost food security as part of their educational day. And an un-fortunate number will deal with the actual illness. We are seeing a large increase in requests for assistance, and we will be there to answer the need. You can be part of that answer by registering at www.outpacepoverty.org. The registration fee of $25 includes a t-shirt. Please contact Nancy Butters, Devel-opment Manager, with questions or help register-ing at [email protected] or 816-659-8266.

If your income or employment has been impacted by the coronavirus, you may be eligible to receive help through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). A letter from your employer on letterhead will be required providing details of how your employ-ment and wages have been impacted by coronavirus. If you are unable to get a letter, include your employer’s phone number so the agency can verify the impact date, work hours and payrate, if applicable. Follow the link for further instructions on how to apply and where to get an application.

To apply for LIHEAP, download and print a LI-HEAP application (https://dss.mo.gov/fsd/energy-assistance/index.htm). Scroll down, the application is located under, “How Do I Apply”.

Completed applications should be mailed to your local LIHEAP agency. The list of agencies is located on the last page of the LIHEAP application by your county of residence.

If anyone has questions about their Spire bill or payment agreement options, please call 800-582-1234.
